Thanks Rich, that looks like the one. I don't remember the name Renwall though. A nice kit as I remember.
Sorry for the hijack Bob!

Well the Turkey roast has been cleared away now Bob. Time to get on with those tracks:smiling5::smiling3:

The next few steps went together quickly. :)

First up I installed the tracks. These are the newer rubber band type that glue with TET. First time I've used them, they work well.

Next was the spade which is attached with 2 pins. Easy enough, other than getting the cable to stay around the pulley wheels.

And finally the platform. This still has to have some chains attached which I will do tomorrow when the glue has dried.

She's getting long now.

very late onto this one,Bob,great work, real do like the paint work and weathering, well done so far,:smiling:

Wow Bob,

Like Monica, I am late on this one too, and really like the way this has turned out. The finish on the tracks came out well and looks realistic. Surprising that you can get such good results from them. The wood finish on the shovels also stands out. Time for the big bang stick now, huh? Looks great!!!

Prost

Bob,
Just pulling up a seat to watch the build. As an aside a long time ago there was one of these minus the gun barrel on the ranges/training area in Norfolk in the mid 1960's, but where it is now is probably in the scrap mans bin.
Mike.
Hi Bob that should keep you busy through the new yr a nice clean build you are doin an I think ive seen one like this but can't be sure of it at the muckelbourgh collection nr Sheringham in Norfolk im following this build keep up the good work chris

This is very inspiring, I will be trying some of your techniques on my 1/87 scale M12.
Some truly fine modeling there Bob. Cheers, Rick H.

Cheers guys. :smiling3:

I've mostly been painting the figures today, just blocking in the uniforms. I'll post pics when they are a little further along.

Meanwhile I also got the glass installed in the hatches and attached the chains (which by the way were a massive pain in the arse).

A very nice result to a tough, complex area. PaulE .

Luv seeing your updates Bob! This really is turning into a classic. Look forward to seeing the figures. Do you paint the whole perspex blue or just the back?

Cheers gents. :)

Steve, I just gave the rear of the blocks a light coat of clear blue. They actually came out a lot bluer (is that a word??) than I expected, so I'll tone them down with some dust on the outside.

I must say I’m not convinced by the blue vision blocks. Tamiya have recommended that colour since forever, and I’ve never felt it looks right.
I agree, I think they should be more greenish. Revell say blue as well though.
