Airfix 1/32 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite Mk I (02421)

Really good build and finish from that elderly Airfix car kit Dave. The advent of new finishing materials these days is a real bonus. Especially on old car kits with no plated parts. You have given the model a real lift by using it.

    Pocher 1/8 Porsche 917K Gulf

    Impressive !

    Airfix 1/24 MGB (07401)

Very nice model build Dave. The ground clearance looks a bit high, more like for the rubber bumper version. Maybe Aoshima did that version too and left it as is for both ?

    VW T25 935 - more silliness

    Nice one Jabba !

    Jägermeister Escort MK2

Very nice model in the Jagermeister livery. That old Esci/Italeri kit has been around a long time now and showing its age. The OP has done well with this build ! Would be nice to see a brand new kit from someone.

    Ford Model T 1/16th scale --- modified.

Love it ! Love it! Love it ! Fascinating to see vintage commercials being modelled. Really interesting conversion. Lots of character about it.

    Heller Citroen Fourgon HY build

There was one at Telford a few years back in one of the show halls operating as catering van.

    A bit of figure painting

I admire anyone who can paint good portraits like the OP's work. A different ballgame to landscape painting. Even impressionist portraits need to be recognised as the subject.

    Modellers vice build

Is the Warco WM180 a similar sized lathe to my little Unimat 4, or a bit bigger ? Does it come with any attachments to convert it to anything else like the Unimats?

    The things you see 🧐

Er. Did I not say standard PC ?

    The things you see 🧐

Wow ! Technology really has moved on stillp. It appears that Windows can now convert a standard PC screen into a touch screen ! LOL Kacitgirl. Go on. Be a masochist. Get a Revell Smart car kit, some green, white and red flock that the custom car guys use for carpets in their models...

    Dust.

Vacuum cleaners ! Hell on Earth to scale models ! A definite No No to me. I found the safest thing for me to use is a big soft makeup blusher brush, courtesy of my missus. Bless her !

    Ships in Bottles?

Nice model taking shape here. Putting a ship in a bottle unfortunately compromises the amount of detail that can be added to enable the process. Ships in bottles will always be good recognisable impressions of particular vessels rather than highly detailed miniatures that are a different ball...

    Jauqes cousteau calypso

The Billings kit. 1/45th scale will allow for a highly detailed big model. I think that the real ship was converted from a mine sweeper. I can remember the Revell kit but never seen one built up at any shows in the UK. Probably quite a number of unbuilt kits languishing in stashes !

How long to make a standard model??

Time taken on my models ? Don't ask! Since doing some scratch built cars in larger scales, lucky if I build one a year and I am retired! Going back to the OP's original question, it depends on whether the kit is easier with fewer parts or highly complex straight out of the box. Also depends on...

    Workbench, show us yours

Some modelling rooms are utopia, others like municipal tips ! Mine falls into the latter category, so I won't be showing it on here anytime soon!

    Tidy, tidy, tidy 😀

Sounds like a very exclusive club there McSporran. Looks like it could be a welcome distraction for single and divorced modellers, that is if you can actually find any of that ultra rare species who actually always keep their benches tidy. Warning ! Married modellers run acute personal risk of...

    Aoshima vertex Aristo

Yet another nicely built model from kacitgirl. At this rate will soon overtake Henry Ford's production output. Only joking !

Review - Dspiae Tool Combo Set - Pt1

It is surprising the number of tools one accumulates over the years. Some of mine sit unused for long periods, but when that job comes up that needs the right tool !!!!

    Revell Aqua, not impressed!

I have used it for brush painting and found it to be fine in use. The body containers take a bit of getting used to. Hobbycraft locally has run their Aquacolour stock out having been running it down for a while now. Not sure if those paints have been discontinued or not, but my local...
