    Tamiya GB...Rules and chat thread

Don’t think I’ve done a GB this year, so I’ll join this one. I also have several choices, but don’t know which one yet. Possibly an Archer SP gun, but I’ll see closer to the time.

Big difference between Shea type stadia and UK sports arenas at the time was that Shea was all seater. All UK sports stadia at that time had extensive stepped terracing which would not be great for pop concert safety. Using them for those sorts of concerts would probably have resulted in the...

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Those are interesting Bob. I would think the soft tips would stop parts being launched into the aether….

Bit of a misnomer here. The Beatles (and Stones) did dance halls and theatres in the UK because we didn’t have stadium type venues until well after the Beatles broke up. They never did these sorts of venues on tours abroad, always going for the biggest venues available (Shea stadium, for...

Sorry to hear this John. Thoughts are with you.

    Worst /best kit you’ve built.

Interesting Barry. I built mine as part of a group build on here, and at least one other member had similar issues. Details here….it was mostly poor fit of the body and tail. I was experiencing bad RA flares at the time though, which I’d forgotten , so that could’ve coloured my experience ...

    Brian's Sovereign of the seas

Machine looks good. Steel and Nickle Silver always takes blackening solutions well. As to brass, it’s probably coated in photoresist from the etching process. Carrs used to make a product called Aciddip that was useful for cleaning and preparing etched brass for blackening. Also, not all...

    Toyota prius

Lovely smooth finish anyway 👍. Had a silver car once. It was great, never looked dirty, so went ages between washes. Trouble was everyone kept asking what colour it was going to be when I painted it. Philistines the lot of ‘em 😂

Hi Kaci. The grey looks nice, but I think the new ones look great in yellow…..it just suits them.

    Off to a heart specialist!

Glad to hear that John. Stress can cause a lot of problems. I know you are having a really hard time at the moment, but try to chill as much as you can because it will help. I’m sure the echocardiogram won’t find anything. I had one after my embolisms and found it an interesting experience...
