    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

I was surprised to find a model shop while on holiday. It had a reasonable selection of kits but not too much in 1/48, but I did find this 🙂 Geoff.

I think your idea is perfectly reasonable Neil, good luck selling it to your wife 🤞😂 Geoff.

An update on my wife and my lack of posting since today.

Sorry to hear your sad news John. Hopefully this will give you a bit of respite and allow you to spend more quality time with your wife. Don’t forget to take care of yourself as well, it’s easy to slip into the habit of ignoring your own needs in these situations. We’ll all be here if you...

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.1

Missed the start of your build Joe, looks like a nice kit. Good work so far, I like the underside painting 👍 Geoff.

Smashing job Joe 👍 An all round beautiful result. Geoff.

    Smallest amount to airbrush

I pretty much air brush everything apart from moulded on detail like cockpit parts or wheel hubs. Basically anything where masking would take longer than the actual painting/clean up (apart from cockpit canopies etc). Like Bob I generally only use lacquer paint and don’t really find the...

    Joe's Trumpeter 1/72 Mig-29C Fulcrum

Ooh that looks very nice Joe 🤩 They always seem to come alive when the transfers go on. I don’t blame you leaving some of the smaller ones off, if you can hardly see them they’re pointless 👍 Geoff.

    Newbie

Welcome Anthony 😊 Can’t really add anything that hasn’t already been said. We’re a friendly bunch though so any questions just ask 👍 Geoff.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

That’s good to know Tony, I saw Matt of PM models calling them a “game changer” too. He wasn’t trying to sell them just showing something he had been using so thought I’d give them a try. I’ll remember the tip to clean them straight away 👍 Geoff.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

I picked these up recently. They are paint filters, which hopefully should sieve out those tiny bits of crud that ends up in your paint now and again. There are two sizes of mesh included, not sure how much difference they will make but thought they were worth a go. Geoff.

Andrew's 1/48 Indian Air Force Spitfire XVIII - Completed

I missed this post the first time too 🫤 Great job Andrew, it’s a very nice scheme and I think you’ve got the black basing effect spot on 👍 Geoff.

    Papa695s 1/72 Hasegawa F111

Smashing job Ian 👍 It looks just right, sleek but menacing and a proper U.S. icon. Film of them taking off on a raid seemed to pop up on the news quite regularly in the 80s as I recall. Geoff.

    Geoffs Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-3

Thanks Ian 👍 You’re right Chris it would have been, let’s just say challenging 😵‍💫 Geoff.
