Geoffs Airfix 1/48 F-86f Sabre build ( Geoffs U.S. Icons Group Build)

First up thank you to all who took part in the Group Build. There has been some cracking builds and a nice variety of subjects too 👍 Here is my finished entry. Build thread here: https://www.scalemodelling.co.uk/threads/geoffs-airfix-1-48-north-american-f-86f-sabre.1276787/ I found it a...

    GB idea

I’ve only got one Tamiya kit in the stash which is a Mossie. Don’t really want to build that, 💡moment = buy something new 😊 I’m probably in 👍 Geoff.

Geoffs Airfix 1/48 North American F-86F Sabre.

Another update chaps, Transfers went on easily as you’d expect from Cartograph. I chose not to add all the stencils as I really didn’t think they were adding anything important. After the transfers had settled I gave it a coat of AK real colors satin varnish to seal them in. After that it...

    Gloster Meteor night fighter 1/72

Very nice result Ed 👍 You’ve done well to keep it balanced like that, tail sitters are a real pain 😣 Geoff.

    Next kit build dilemma

That’s why I don’t keep a large stash, the more kits I have the more I procrastinate about the next kit to build 😕 Geoff.

    Geoffs Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-3

A little late to the party but the build is finally underway 🥳 I’ve basically just removed all the parts needed from the runners and given them a clean up. The small parts had a tiny bit of flash but otherwise it was just a case of trimming the attachment nubs. Cockpit is fairly detailed and...

    AK Real Colours.

Nice idea but I somehow doubt it 😂 Geoff.

    AK Real Colours.

I’m not sure John, they didn’t mention any replacement so I’m not expecting any. I think that they have admitted that there may be many of these faulty bottles lurking in shop stock. I think I’ll avoid them for the foreseeable future. You’re right there Joe, plus I’ve already binned the faulty...

That’s good progress Dave 👍 It’s certainly a unique looking bird, it’s more apparent seeing a 3D replica 😮 Geoff.

    DH88 Comet bad news

Good news - the pilot was discharged from hospital yesterday and is ok. Bad news - from what I’ve read the rebuild maybe difficult as it is quite a complex construction and there aren’t that many people around who could do it, 🤞 though that it will be possible. Geoff.
