Different carrier, but on the theme... I'm waiting for a parcel. It's a valuable piece of equipment that must be handed over to a person, not left outside. Yodel gave me a slot for 9-11 am yesterday. Great, I thought, Thomas will be home. At 10:08 I received an email from yodel saying they...

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you like it and I feel honoured to be able to celebrate Ron in a way he might have approved of.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Thanks guys, we're loving it so far. I'd done loads of research, and had a wish list of spec, but to be honest the XC40 wasn't even on our radar. We popped down to the car supermarket where I'd worked for 17 years as I knew there'd be a huge range to look at, and this just stood out, ticking...

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

My wife has finally taken the plunge and gone full EV. Since today is her birthday we went "just for a browse" and ended up coming home with a Volvo! 😲 An XC40 Recharge Twin to be exact, but with dual motors, 4x4, and over 400bhp, it's definitely no pipe & slippers car. It's so potent that it...

    Airfix HC2 Wessex SAR.

Watching with interest. I keep saying I'll build one myself as it was my kid brothers "office" before SAR moved over to the Sea King.

That looks like quite a handy little jig.

I love the look of the roofing sheets John, you've captured the aged asbestos feel very well. If you don't mind me saying though, the wooden capping looks a bit too straight & true in comparison. Maybe it has been replaced lately by the homeowner? Or you still have plans for it?

Thank you both. Yes, it was a huge relief that the decals went on easily after the last palaver.

Thanks guys, it seems to be coming together well so far. Sorry if I've upset the apple cart for you Neil. I was warned that bikes were addictive, and they are 😂

The engine & airbox are now finished And fitted into the frame. I'm hoping it's in the correct place as it didn't seem to sit naturally. I must have messed something up 🤔 Thankfully the decals were a breeze

Thanks Peter. Tricky to photograph 😂 The sealer has made the chrome a little cloudy, reflections aren't quite as sharp, but I'm still happy with it. A bit more practice might show improvement. There's a huge improvement in durability though! Anyone that's used a chrome paint will know...

    Forum going very slow?

I've been around here for 7 years under different guises. I can count the number of unplanned outages on one hand, and the number of sluggish periods using the other, which I think is a very good record. I think it's always worth reporting just to ensure that John is aware but I don't believe...

I'll get some pictures in the morning for you. I've only sealed it so far but will be trying some clear on a test piece.

    Tamiya 1/12 Honda CB750F

Thanks all. The chrome has lost a bit of an edge after applying the sealer, but at least it won't rub off now! My first test piece was a bit disappointing but a few words of advice from Scott Taylor himself (Mr SMS) has given me a much better outcome. Basically the minimum number of light...

Thanks very much Bob. Yes, I've never had anything like that with decals and hope I never do again 😂

Thanks Steven. Like all chrome paints it rubs off really easily, I dare not touch it yet! I've had success sealing it in with a water based clear, but since SMS have released a dedicated sealer I thought I'd give that a go on these.
