Langy's 'The Mekon', 1/16 scale figure by Mooncrest models.

So this will be my entry for the Jakko's Movie/ TV star group build, For those of us who aren't aware who or what 'The Mekon' is, The Mekon was created by scientific experimentation by Treen scientists on Venus , he was specifically engineered for a very high intelligence and as such he had a...

    Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane

And a few markings, these are really good decals, they easily put up with being dragged around whilst laying them down.... Although Airfix could do with taking a bit more care with where they have you put them....reference pics are a godsend.. Exhaust stubs still need some work...but I'm...

    Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane

And after a while attempting to decipher airfix's camo patterns, she got masked up, and then she took a trip to the shed (paint shop) to get her new clothes, Now to let this 'settle' for a while before I start the final run to the finish.. oh... she also got some new teeth..

    Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane

Had a bit of spare time today, so off to the paint shop she went, Tamiya 'Sky', lightened with a few drops of flat white to lessen the stark 'green' finish that it tends to appear as it drys 'Standard' black and white for the panel ines and mottling Flat Earth base coat wasn't...

Thanks guys.. flat it is then... :thumb2: Doing a bit of google-fu I've just found a colourised photo of the actual aircraft, Taken 1st October 1940 at RAF Wittering..which would put this aircraft in the Battle of Britain.. There's some pretty obvious repair patches on the fuselage, and one on...

    Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane

Not much to report on this, other than some seem work and a quick test of the wing alignment, quick question though... how much dihedral do the wings have ? as much a Spifire has ? or were they more 'flat' ?

    Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane

A very gracious gift from Andy @The Smythe Meister, cheers mate Not too much detail as it seems to be the 2013 boxing of this kit before it's recent re-tool..as such it's adorned with loads of flash,(every part so far has had an encounter with the sanding pads,) and raised panel lines...(might...

    1/12 Tamiya 240Z Fairlady

Excellent looking build so far Ken, this takes me right back to when my older brother bought a 'wrecked' 240z and over the next year rebuilt it from the ground up, it looked stunning when he'd finished, We spent many a happy day showing the local chav's in their ford sierra sapphires just how...

1/35 Meng 'Toyota Hi-lux' Libyan Technical pick up with ZPU-1 Anti Aircraft Cannon..

Well at the risk of boring everybody to death with this build, The base got a repaint due to it 'not looking right', and I've finally finished the figure I decided to add to it...so I'm sticking a fork in it and calling it done..(for the second time..lol) 'Larry the libyan gets his first...

    I can't find it...

Not sure if this helps, but when I built the bandai C3PO, (which had gold coloured plating on the plastic) I ended up using some 'Oven Pride' cleaner from our local B&M, this stripped the plating back to bare plastic in a few hours, and was totally safe to use on plastic.
