    Ryefield Models M1240A1 M-ATV

Morning all. :) Small update on this, I installed the engine, transmission and prop shaft into the chassis. This was a tricky endeavour and involved some time and swearing, but I managed to get it all together without breaking anything off. The chassis has had a first pass with Tamiya panel...

    Ryefield Models M1240A1 M-ATV

Morning guys. :) Progress has been slow on this, purely because I am very limited in when I can airbrush. I have switched over completely to lacquer and enamel paints, and as Mrs B has asthma I only like to spray these when she is at work. This means spraying is limited to Saturdays only at the...

    Ryefield Models M1240A1 M-ATV

Morning all. :) I finished off the chassis last night with the addition of the suspension arms, shocks, springs, bump stops, etc. There are a surprisingly large number of parts in this finished piece, the suspension alone is something like 15 parts per corner. With that done I made a start...

    Ryefield Models M1240A1 M-ATV

Afternoon guys. :) I've been having a bit of a break from modelling since June whilst I got to grips with figuring out how a lathe works. As the evenings are now starting to draw in I thought it's a good time to get back to fiddling with plastic instead of metal. :) So I decided to ease my way...

Picked this up the other day, probably should have taken the photo before using it. :)

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Morning guys, Just finished this one up at the weekend. Overall a very enjoyable build, although I did run into issues at the end with the front cowling not fitting properly. I ended up stripping and repainting it, even then although better it still doesn't fit properly. Not sure if it's me or...

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Cheers guys. :) Started putting it together yesterday. Front end. Seat and fuel tank. Then the problems started when I tried to fit the cowl. I can only assume that the internal headlight piece that connects to the frame isn't correctly located within the cowl. There's nothing else for...

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Cheers Steve. :) I've been working on the paintwork for the last few days. First up was the body panels, painted, glossed, decalled and glossed again. The kit comes with a decal for the red accent on the front fairing, but I decided to mask and paint it instead. Then I cleaned up all the...

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Morning chaps. :) Back ends on. I lost a little bit of the decal on the exhaust when fitting the mounting clamp, not sure yet if I'm going to leave it or attempt a repair. The exhaust is only attached by one screw so I can remove it later if needed.

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Cheers gents. :) I had a bit of an "Oh S**t" moment this morning when I was working on the rear suspension (the joys of working from home). I couldn't find the suspension spring, not sure if I lost it or it wasn't in the kit. So I made this: Not perfect by a long shot but should do and...

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Morning guys. :) I finished building the engine and got it installed in the frame this weekend, still need to add a wash to the frame. I took some artistic licence with regards to the colour of some of the engine parts.

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Welcome along for the ride Nick. :) I got the first paint down yesterday. I've gone for gloss aluminium on the frame as it seems to match the boxart the best (and I'm guessing the real bike frame would be ali).

    Tamiya Yamaha YZF-R1

Morning guys. :) For my second attempt at a motorcycle I've chosen this. I've made a start by getting the engine block cleaned up and together along with all the various bits that go with it. I also got the frame, mudguard and main body halves glued together along with all the parts from the...

    1/12 Tamiya Repsol Honda RC213V

Hi Guys, I decided it was time to have a go at building a bike, so dove in at the deep end with this kit. It went together beautifully as you would expect with Tamiya, and considering it was my first bike build I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Fixed! Now I can get on with decals.

    Tamiya Repsol Honda RC213V

Morning chaps. :) Had a bit of a disaster with this. I'm working on decals and as some of them need to line up across different panels I decided to fit the panels to the frame first. The seat/tank section is made up of several parts, including a cover that sits in front of the tank. This is...

    Tamiya Repsol Honda RC213V

Cheers gents. :smiling3: Paul, I know little about bikes (just enough to know not to get on one) so I'm not sure about the exhausts. I assumed it would have been bent, but maybe welded in sections is correct? The real one looks like this:

    Tamiya Repsol Honda RC213V

Morning guys. :) I started getting some of the painted bits together yesterday. I'm not convinced that the exhaust heat staining is particularly good, it was my first ever attempt at doing this. As most of it will be hidden I decided to leave it. I still need to do a panel line wash on some...

    Tamiya Repsol Honda RC213V

Morning gents. :) Small update on this one, I've been working on getting the remaining parts cleaned up and painted. I'm using Gravity paints for the panels, first time I've used these and it mostly went OK. I had some paint build up at the masking demarcations, but this seemed to be easily...
