After giving the body a coat of olive drab I then gave it a mist of hairspray . The hope is that once its been painted in the sand colour I can scrub away a little to reveal the olive drab underneath to simulate wear and tear. Latest Acquisitions (2026)
Got this for a bargain £6.40 delivered , its the Revell Hurricane mk IIc but in a Marks and Spencer boxing with four little paint pots a brush and a tube of contacta . I also got the conversion kit ( cost more than the kit though !) to be able to do a mkIId with the twin 40mm cannon pods . I... -

After reading up a bit on these I found out they were delivered from the factory in standard olive drab and were hand painted in the sand colour by the soldiers , so thats what im going to do too. Most of the parts have had a coat of olive drab and I think I'm going to brush paint the sand .- yak face

Thanks a lot guys , I cant recommend this kit highly enough - its really nicely detailed and goes together well . The undercarriage needs a bit of care to thread through the spar and if you want to have the canopy open you need to sand the spine down a bit but the lovely cockpit is worth...- yak face

Heres another Hurricane mk 1 from Airfix . I didnt bother with a build log as Ive done a few before . Its a fantastic little kit that i just cant resist as its such a great build and I really love a hurricane ( watch this space - a mkII d flying can opener coming soon !)- yak face

Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 Hungarian Air Force-Tamiya 1:48
Beautifully built rodolfo , and excellent photography too . I do like a nice 109 and have built quite a few in different schemes ( finnish , romanian , plenty of german) but have yet to do a Hungarian one , but I definitely will. Cheers tony- yak face

Heres the ancient ESCI Henschel hs129 in 1/48 . A tooling from 1977 but with a little bit of fettling and a set of etch seat belts scrubs up pretty well .- yak face
