Do you have a hobby mancave
took a little break from the diorama build and thought I'd make good from the promise of a few mancave photo's. So here we are ...... apologies for the mess. There is also a bit of " remodelling " of the mancave to be done once the RC stuff is gone. But for now ..... the big entrance ... -

As mentioned ..... some blue foam to mark out where the walls will be going. they are indicative as the wall thickness etc is presently too thick. These will be scaled down before carving in the surfaces etc. I'm sure you get the picture. thinning down the walls should be a bit simpler as I...- toto

so ..... as I mentioned, a quick, very thin application of plaster to thr base and filling in the base board joins ..... I can sand these down and fill further where ever required. Then I started to pay attention to my first structure to be planted and done a bit of a mock up ..... enter...- toto

Ok baseboard insulation foam cut and stuck to plywood base ..... nearly done .... one corner left to go .... and we are there ..... I have since given it an all over coat of very thin plaster slurry just to roughen the surface up a little. ..... just something I do. I want to heighten...- toto

Apologies ... just frustrating. It was nigh on impossible to open any post at all. What software is the forum run on. Could it be zenforo. i had my own forum for around 12 years ( i have now handed it on to others ). It started off on ultrabb software but was successfully migrated over onto... -

Latest Acquisitions (2026)
Just had another arrive 10 minutes ago ..... another Zveda kit. An ambulance this time. I'll take a couple up to Dounreay when I gok back and build them at night. That'll keep me out of trouble. :D Cheers Toto -

Foam supply delivered today so this missus tells me. So ....... a busy week in the shed starting on Saturday. Im on holiday all week so we should see some decent strides in progress being made. I aim to have the foam glued in place and the general terrain form started by Saturday night all...- toto

Well, Back up in Dounreay for another week. I get back home on friday in time for my daughters 40th on friday night ..... so no progress until Saturday. My insulation board is meant to arrive on Thursday so thats great. I can bash on with that on Saturday. I still dont have the final overall...- toto

Thanks John. My problem is .... once the doubt is cast ..... I know my heart wont be in it. I think { as usual for me } ambition out run reality as to what I could squeeze in. I will maybe save the bridge for a smaller diorama in the future and keep this one a bit simpler to let me use it as a...- toto

Big apology coming up .......... I have decided to abandon the started diorama board for a couple of reasons. 1. I didn,t provide timber bracing to the platform and as a result it is warping all over the place which is no good if you intend to use plaster as one of your building mediums...- toto
