It's not as good as I'd like, but it's better than it was, so time for some paint: I thought it will be easier to mask off the red and then spray the u/c bays white rather than the other way around. I've also left off the pitot tube to avoid the inevitable breakage! The wheels will be brush...- stillp

I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to get the wing to fit, but the twisted fuselage had other ideas: The wing roots are not too bad, but the rear part is just a mess. I'm trying to decide whether to bin it, paint it red and apply the decals then bin it, or try to smooth out that mess...- stillp

Well, I've done worse mottling, but it doesn't look too bad. Now I need to decide which order to do the following in: clearcoat, decals, fit the undercarriage and bay doors, fit the pitot and aerials. The wheel bays are in the underbody colour, RLM76 as recommended by Airfix. I did originally...- stillp

I'm confused. I thought the mottling was 3-colour (RLM81/82/02) based on the pic in the instructions: but I just found this pic on the Airfix website (https://uk.airfix.com/products/messerschmitt-me262a-1a2a-a03090a) which clearly shows the mottling to be two-colour, RLM 81/82. No sign of any...- stillp

Managed to get a bit more done yesterday and today: An interesting assembly process; the two fuse halves are joined together, and the cockpit tub joined to the lower wing, then the fuse fitted over the tub and lower wing.
