I should have researched more carefully. The instructions seem to suggest that both parts of the U/C doors are attached to the U/C leg, but only the curved part is - the mostly rectangular bit is angled outwards, and overlaps the curvy bit. Oh dear. For some reason that I've forgotten, I left the main gear wheels off, probably to save masking them. Just fitted them and only now realised why there are two locating points in the semicircular part of the bay doors - the wheels don't reach the ground, but the bay door does! The nearer...- stillp

These arrived yesterday from ebay, via China... Nail art dotting tools, as someone mentioned in another thread for applying glue. The ball ends range from 1mm to 3mm. £2.89 delivered! Pete -

Good suggestion Colin, thanks. I got fed up with the endless repetition of fill/sand/prime, so I decided that some of the many blemishes will just have to remain, and gave it a couple of coats of Tamiya Semi-gloss black. Well, the fuse halves are sort-of joined. This was like trying to glue a banana to a corkscrew! I had to use TET wherever the halves touched, and a lot of clamps. I've run a load of tuble glue on the inside of the join to strengthen it, as it's going to need a lot of sanding. Pete- stillp

Thinking of it Colin. The instructions state "IF STAND IS TO BE USED CUT AWAY WALL OF PLASTIC FROM STAND SLOT IN FUSELAGE UNDERSIDE" (yes, they do shout!) but they don't say where that 'stand slot' is! I think I can find it, but not sure. I want to have the gear down anyway, but I'd like to use...- stillp

The fuselage has a lot of sink marks, so I've been busy with Mr Dissolved Putty More sanding tomorrow I think. Luckily most of the sink marks aren't too near any moulded detail. Completed this a little later than planned, had a few days off the bench with stomach problems. A nice kit to build - no major problems but the instructions a bit vague in places. I joined those 3 subassemblies, and added a few more bits. The stowage boxes under the doors were completely open at the bottom, and too deep to fill with any of my usual fillers, so I mixed up some Milliput and filled them with that: Should have smoothed that out a bit better, but after...- stillp
