How do you get the wheels on without damaging the painted tyres? If only a wheel change was this easy in real life! Gently squeeze the shock struts at the top to open out the axle end. Easy when you’re a landing gear expert (ahem!).- rickoshea52

Doug's 1/48 Airfix Sea King
Will you be adding the ice accretion rod Doug? Did your SK’s have a speedtape strip applied along the keel to fuselage angle under the main door? RAF cabs had this applied to protect the airframe from the hoist cable.- rickoshea52

It looks like you may have missed the crewmans grab rail above the cabin door, Doug. The instructions don’t show it but it’s in the kit. I think it’s an omission from the instructions because every cab I’ve seen has it fitted.- rickoshea52

My copy of this months Airfix Model World arrived today with a feature on Airfix’s new Chinook HC1. I was curious to read about there being a “lowered/raised undercarriage” option! Movie Memphis Belle Help
Coincidentally, I was looking at Memphis Belle yesterday in the USAF museum in Dayton. I’ll be going back again this week if there is anything you’d like a photo of. Peter is spot on about the nose art colours. Current (and perhaps correct) nose art in these photos.- rickoshea52

Decals revealed and a pin wash applied for the panel lines. Tonight I did a bit of work on the exhaust staining using weathering powders. Trying to find reference photos of how this style of exhaust deposited staining was difficult so I just went with what looked right. Not forgetting the...- rickoshea52

Curved photo etch benders
I have a pair of small jewellery pliers bought from Hobbycraft that is useful for bending wire, but for sheet metal a parallel rod of suitable size and a mouse mat can work.- rickoshea52

White camouflage applied over AV chipping solution and maskol covered decals. I tried free hand for the upper/lower demarcation lines - let’s see how that works out later.- rickoshea52
