    Joe's Airfix 1/72 Boeing Chinook HC.1 - Logistics GB

Cheers Rick. The new tool kit you built looked fantastic, and a much better build experience I bet.

    Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire IXe

Cheers Portman. It seems to be sound in shape and size, certainly looks like a Spitfire to me.

    Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire IXe

That's true Tony. I bought this along time ago, probably not long after it first came out. Nothing I can't handle with this one, and it's still light years ahead of the old Airfix IX, which was the very first model I built here on this forum upon my return to the hobby

    Joe's Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk1

Yeah, I need new glasses soon... Thanks Colin. Mine too! Cheers Steve, hoping to meet the deadline Cheers Portman. I only have a few 1/48 scale aeroplanes and a couple in 1/32. I love my 72nd kits, but this is certainly easier to handle... and see!

    Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire IXe

All parts are cleaned up, on sticks, and ready for primer. I used wire from a twisty thing that you use to seal bags or whatever, and looped it through the holes for the exhaust stacks. This helps later with handling during painting and varnishing.

    Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire IXe

The cockpit is well known to be devoid of almost any detail. It is the worst part of this kit. Much of it will be hidden under the canopy, but I couldn't leave it like that. I discovered I had some spare parts left from a Spitfire PR XIX. I used the XIX cockpit floor, seat, stick and rear frame...

    Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire IXe

I started this a few days before the Spitfire GB, so couldn't claim it for the GB. I'll build it in the background alongside it's larger version of the Mk1.

    Tamiya 1/72 Junkers Ju87G-2 Stuka

Thanks Steven. I imagine it would have been terrifying watching this bear down on a tank

    Joe's Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk1

I prepped the cockpit parts, made up as many sub assemblies as I could, and everything got a dose of Mr Surfacer. I will be using the pilot to busy the cockpit up, and to disguise the seat which isn't the best shape. I have spent most of my model life in 1/72, this 1/48 scale is great for my...

    Joe's Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk1

I have removed the detail that was not needed from the lower wing. I built the interior of the lower wing up seeing as I had it out already. I found that the small landing gear hinges are very fiddly to get in place. Removed the fuselage halves from the sprue trees and cleaned them up. I painted...

    Joe's Airfix 1/72 Boeing Chinook HC.1 - Logistics GB

Thank you Steven. It is in my cabinet protected from the dust with the others. It looks better with the rotors and wire on!
