A little bit more progress, painted the yellow sections on the front of the wings and made a start with the decals, the decals are quite nice to work with, 10 seconds in the water and there good to go.- Mark1

Right, so since my last post ive give it a blast of the right colour and laquered it, the bin has been moved a little closer to the bench also cos one more f#@£ up and thats where its going:angry: think this has cost me the same in paint as the kit cost now:tears-of-joy: Wrong colour Right...- Mark1

Well the mojo has been lacking just recently but ive managed to muster up the enthusiasm to get this in colour and clearcoated, with a bit more success than last time thankfully.- Mark1

So after the big paint cockup and it nearly getting binned i have set about it with some of this Its making a great job of it,especially as its had to work its way through 2 acrylic clearcoats,2 coats of laquer green,2 coats of laquer silver and a coat of tamiya rattle can primer. Thanks Andrew it was ! So have just given it a coat of valleo gloss ready for decals and....... a strange mottle has appeared all over it! Not really sure what im gonna do with it now- Mark1

Had a coat of mr color sm 201 silver, after having a go with the chipping fluid on the cowling and not being particularly happy with it ive decided to go with the masking fluid chipping method, the results are much more predictable.- Mark1

Thanks chris, As for painting, ive just been looking into that, it is said that many jap planes werent primed and suffered from extensive paint flaking/chipping, this is true in a lot of cases but after just having a read it would seem all the zeros were primed, well i fancied doing a real...- Mark1

Making some decent progress today, fusalge has now been filled and sanded so the cockpit will be going in and the wings glued in place, the engines put together, will maybe give it a dry brush of silver.- Mark1

Added the mg's, not worried aboit touching up the top as its not seen. The fusalge has gone together, a bit of filler is required top and bottom,gonna lose a bit of rivet detail i think but it is so fine i think i would probably lose some just with the paint anyway, my main worry was the top...- Mark1

Cockpit is now put together,havent spent to much time on it as your wont see much, got some colour on the engine and mg's, wings are put together so ive got a little bit of detailing on the cockpit area of the fusalge to do and that will be getting stuck together, lacking any real location...- Mark1

Ok well i did get the cockpit parts built,some detail sanded for etch replacement and painted....only in the wrong colour :confused: interior green mr hobby aqueous h58 or enamel c351. So i grabbed the h58 and gave it a squirt ,the colour was way off compared to the coloured etch(should have...- Mark1
