    Ian M's Fw190A-8 JGr.10 Hasegawa 1/32

As it happens it was pouring with rain today so the garden is far to wet to work. (I know, such a pity). I spent an hour or two in the cave. An hours fun with masking tape and a sharp knife. A bit of paint and..... Now it needs a days rest to cure. Still contemplating decal or paint for the...

    Ian M's Fw190A-8 JGr.10 Hasegawa 1/32

Did a few bits here and there over the weekend and this morning. I got the wing built up and the wheel bay fitted inside. Quite a tight fit that needed a "helping hand" along the way. I also primed some parts that would need painting before they get put together, but Grey primer on Grey...

Well after a long week playing with planking and glue I have put the last plank of the first layer on the hull... Gaaaabbbbbb. The Stern, aft of the props has yet to be planked. Even steamed planks have been tried and trashed... It kind of like trying to plank a pool ball. Its about that size...

So what does one do while waiting for the glue to dry? Well.... You assemble the nice 11 part brass wheel... Still looking for suitable dials and gauges. A couple of gas handles as well. Mount the Navigation lights and a horn. And yes the lights work. I need to tie in a mast top light and a...

Steve, Neil and Doug, Thank you for tagging along. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey. Crap I forgot to wipe the glue off the surface. I'll pay for that later!!! grr. So my method is to soak one end of the plank, I have a nice deep jar (about 20cm) which I place six planks for a few hours. They...

Ian M's Motor Yacht Bruma 1/43 scale Panart.

The Madness Begins. IF you too are considering having a go at any thing involving wood and glue don't ever, ever go light on clamps. Buy plenty, then buy some more. Two planks yesterday, then to this AM. I have found that soaking the end that goes to the rear of the hull is enough, the front I...

Having got the side plank on for the gunwale I started on the combings around the openings in the deck, I guess If this ever gets out on the water, it would be a good idea to try keep the water on the outside! Yep I need to clear the hole for the mast... Again. lol The gunwale topplank is now...

All very good this but I keep forgetting the photos! So. Yesterday I got the trim planks below the gunwalls sorted and made a start making the rails.
