Well I am calling this done. I managed to get a bit of flat coat down yesterday and some photos today. So I am quitting while I'm ahead. The build is here: https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threads/ian-ms-mk-iic-italeri-1-48.43176/ It built well and looks like a Hurricane so that was lucky. Paint...

    Our garden

Oh! The reason why I have sciatica issues: The Whitsun bank holiday was spent in the front garden. What was just a grass area is being turned into a flower garden. This bed dug by Carina, was square but I made it round. It was weeded and got some compost feed. Loads of plants o go in yet! A...

    Our garden

This morning's walk in the garden was a nice cool and gentle stroll. Rewarding too! Our Wisteria is at 90% today. Only a dozen or so blooms left to open: The smell when the sun hits it is amazing. The deep purple rhodo has popped open 'and the clear pink next to it is putting on a fine show...

Heard from the workshop today. The Ride on needs the carb rebuilding. New Oil filter and spark-plug and of course oil. Something in the carb broke and the engine sucked a liter petrol into the sump. £250 and a further weeks wait. Guess I'm going for a walk with a lawn mower tomorrow... grr...

    Our garden

Have enough bother with deer coming in and nibbling the bushes! sheep are even worse. Geese! no thanks have enough of them in the fields around the house. Our area is a mustering point for all birds inbound and outbound. A local twitcher estimated a flock of Brams geese of over TEN THOUSAND in...

    Our garden

Moving on to the veggie patch. What can I say. Denmark like most of Europe got a beating with some storms. Living quite close to the coast, (a 20 minute walk, or so the wife tells me. I'll stick to the five minutes in a car... Well when the road is back. That's another story). The fence around...

More of the Rhodos as they bloom. Bare soil! have to do something about that! The twiggy bush is a Korean Kornel that we moved last autumn, its doing well. We 'acquired' some primroses the other day so popped them in here. This is the 'other white' rhodo by the way. The two Japanese Maples...

So this cool and rainy spring early summer has been kind to the rhodo's this year. They are opening nice and slow and lasting long. Last year it was direct from frost to 20C everything opened at once and done in a week! so it seamed.. So far: This is always the first to open, we have two one...

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

After I put the decals on that is. :flushed: Some Micro sol is now sitting and shrinking the decals down nice and snug to the surface. Once I am happy with them I'll seal them down and then do the washes.:tongue-out2:

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

Right then. I BRUSHED some shiny stuff onto the paintwork so I can do a few washes and a touch of weathering. Now to let it harden up a bit.

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

Well I got my mask set so I took a well earned break* and got back to the bench. Pretty basic instructions but its not rocket science is it. Just have to figure out which bit is what. Then it goes quite quick. Rather funny as the mask looks like the Dark earth but the pattern is reversed...

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

Wet AND windy. Who'd have guessed it! After a minor explosion in a masking tape factory, I got some colour on the topside. So a bit of time for that to cure then camo time... Hurricanes are a pain in that you cant put the canopy on until after you have painted... I guess you could paint the bit...

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

Right then I thought I would just throw a bit of Azur blue on the undersides and let that cure for a day or so while I get on with something else. Its a bit "blue" at the moment, still wet, I found it dulls down a bit as it dries. I cleaned the Airbrush and all that then discovered that I have...

    Ian M's Mk.IIc. Italeri 1/48

So today I got the filler sanded more or less good and painted the tyres on the wheels. Painted a new exhaust as no one noticed that the photo above has two different types.:smiling5: One's a fish tail, the other a round pipe. Don't be to hard on yourselves I didn't notice until today...
