    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

I tend to block in colours as I go. Not always the right colours! I knew she was going to have strong greens, so I blocked in lots with that. Short answer: the gloves aren't going to be green. The bikini is green chainmail. No metallic (or nmm) finishes yet.

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

I was struggling with how to paint her knee-boots. Really pleased I've read them as a booties, greaves and socks combo. The checkered socks make her look celtic (a bit, a really little bit!) imo.

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

Matt varnishing worked a treat. I've now managed to work up some really good skin tones (I think).

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

I've added several layers of blends of cavalry brown, dwarf skin, pale flesh, and white with a tiny hint of vermillion. About six layers in all, with a certain amount of going back and forth between them. Still pretty rough, contrasts are very low key (but look even less obvious in the pictures...

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

I'm going to use a paint selection adapted from YouTuber Dr Faust's Painting Clinic. The following pictures are just with the Cavalry Brown base coat. The plan is to try for a clean, cartoon look, which matches the figure imo. The base had the inevitable skulls and half-buried sword, which...

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

Those print lines. They are most intrusive on her knees and buttocks, so I've done some filling, fairing and sanding to minimise them there. She's pinned to the base through her feet. I've used piano wire (which is very stiff, not like paper clips), but only 10mm long sections, so not much in...

    75mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thitania

Next up, another print-line compromised figure from Twin Goddess - I won't be buying any more figures from this manufacturer, despite the excellent, dynamic poses. I think I should advise that this figure comes in four versions - two are topless, and there are two different bust sizes, this...

38mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thornan the Dadbarian

This is finished. This is one of two Twin Goddess figures I've purchased, and the acquisition has been a useful learning experience. I've discovered just how brittle resin can be (I've had breakages on both figures - this one snapped off at the ankles), and I've seen how annoying print lines...

    Removing print lines

I've got this 90mm figure to paint. It has significant visible print lines. What's the best way to eradicate them? I've got Mr Finisher Surfacer 1500. Would an overall spray of that (maybe several passes?) do the trick? Would it go over the acrylic primer already on it?

    28mm(?) Warhammer(?) Deathroller

The quality of this figure is so poor I doubt it's genuine Warhammer. This was my first go at chipping - looks more like seagull spatter to me, but my 'client' is happy with it. Also the first time I've done oil wash panel lining. I love the rusting chrome springs. Chrome is Molotow, of course...

    28mm(?) Warhammer(?) Deathroller

Some progress pictures. I'll put pictures of the finished model in the appropriate section.

    28mm(?) Warhammer(?) Deathroller

Primed straight over previous paint job. Then zenithal primed.

    28mm(?) Warhammer(?) Deathroller

I got this rather awfully painted mini from a friend who's just started painting (can you tell?) asking if I'd repaint it for him. So I did. You can see that there are pretty intrusive print layers (I think it's probably knock-off?) If I'd known how well it would turn out I'd've spent more...

38mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thornan the Dadbarian

I'm really, really enjoying painting! Still a bit rusty, but full of enthusiasm for it again. I got bogged down with a big diorama (The Choice) last year, and that did put me off the hobby quite a bit. Loving this pose, so macho!

38mm Twin Goddess Miniatures, Thornan the Dadbarian

I know, daft name, I'll call him something else. But great macho pose.

    Sludge Lagoons

Oh boy! That's a treat! Thank you all so much! Next up, this little chap. The pose is total superstud, the hair is Oliver Tobias in his prime:

    Sludge Lagoons

This is a quick and dirty exercise in getting my eye back in after a months' long lay-off. And a couple for scale - these are 1/35th Nuts Planet figures. This piece is a critique of what the water companies are doing to our lakes and rivers. Up near me, Windermere is being seriously harmed...

1/35 Nuts Planet - 'Sludge Lagoons'

Here's the base. I'm trying to create toxic sludge. Texture and vegetation to be added, of course.
