Onwards we go into the unknown..... Just a note on the foam board. It's 5mm x A4 size. It's the sort that has a paper surface that needs to be removed to access the foam core. They cost around £1 a sheet. I prefer this sort because the foam surface is smooth. Thus, you don't need to add cement...- spanner570

'bout time I tackled a dio. As the title states, it'll be abandoned farm buildings in Normandy during WW2. To keep it compact it will be in 1/72. The trouble is Dave, the Sorpe Dam that 'F' attacked was a big ugly earth structure and not nice and ornate like the other dams. so if I do a dam it'll be one with towers and stonework I'd have a crack at.... ...and then wait to be pulled up by some pedant that Ken Brown's 'F' didn't actually...- spanner570

Thanks Pete. Fuselage decal on. Nice quality. The decals would have you use Gibson's G, but I chopped it off and replaced it with Ken Brown's F for Freddie. He attacked the Sorpe Dam and scored a direct hit but failed to breach the dam. I had some very bad silvering behind these decals, It...- spanner570

I was close to leaving this build, but after reading all your nice comments - And a good bo***cking from the wife for being too sensitive, the Lanc. is back on the production line..... Tirpitz in Faettenfjorden Norway. Winter 1942
Airfix 1/600 Tirpitz turned around and brush painted in her winter camouflage. I painted a water colour background on a large piece of card. ....and a reminder of how she looked in the summer. Cheers. Ron- spanner570

Andrew and Chris. Nice to have you climb aboard too..... No figures in the kit, but I managed to find me a pilot of sorts in my spares bag. The cockpit interior will barely be seen, The seating behind the pilot certainly won't, so I've just done enough detail to suffice. Windows fixed...- spanner570

The pile of sprues. I've made a start on the interior colour. I didn't have the pot colour for this, so I've used Vallejo Air. This will be an O.O.B. build. I don't want nor need expensive aftermarket things. Some of which would never see the light of day once buttoned up. I'm perfectly happy...- spanner570

Revell Swift Boat PCF "Let's soak their washing!" Mekong Delta. Vietnam (Re-visited)
'Elderly Statesmen' on here might just remember my diorama of the 1/48 Revell Swift Boat (PCF) and the fact that I couldn't get any 1/48 Vietnam era U.S soldiers to go with it. Airfix 1/72 Red Arrows Hawk. A quick build!
Finished. Great little kit. Excellent all round fit. Stuck together with the supplied 'Gloopy Glue' All brush painted with the supplied little tub paints. The red brushed on a treat. A couple of coats on to the raw grey plastic saw it done. I managed to root out some satin varnish from the...- spanner570

Airfix 1/72 Red Arrows Hawk. A quick build!
Update.... Cockpit in and fuselage joined. No fuss, no dramas, all a good fit. Although this is a basic kit lacking detail, it more than makes up for that with the most excellent fit of all parts. Ready for the red, so time to get the brush out! Cheers. Ron- spanner570

Pilot and cockpit done. 2 pilots supplied, only one needed. No detail to the cockpit. No loss, 'cos for me, life's too short to do stuff that will never be seen......I ain't knocking folks that do mind. ........complete with a good dollop of loose dandruff! Cheers. Ron ..- spanner570
