Ah I see what you mean I thought you were talking about the pilot. I've just found this image and it appears that they did abbreviate to KON.MARINE

Airfix 1/48 Fokker built Hawker Sea Fury F.BMK.51

This is my first venture into 1/48th scale aircraft and the first Airfix model I have built since I was a young lad when you could buy an Airfix model in a bag for 2/6d. As there isn't a 1/32 scale Fury so I decided to try the Airfix model. Detail is good panel lines may be a little deep but I...

Hasegawa 1/32 Focke Wulf Fw 190A-5

Hi all have been building this over the last month. I built the A-8 version back in 2013 and have had this in the stash since then, Modelzone were closing back then and both were a real bargain. No build thread just the finished images. No real problems with the build the only issue I had was...

    Revell 1/32 Hawker Tempest V

Well I've managed to complete this one relatively fast for me in just a month. No real issues with this one. The only thing I added was some pre-painted harnesses from Eduard as Revell supplied decals which are impossible to use. No fit issues, all in all a nice kit.

    Revell 1/32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V

I managed to complete the cockpit it was a bit of a challenge trying to lineup everything at the same time. I thought I had some harnesses in the spares box but alas no. So I've ordered some Eduard pre painted belts from eBay should arrive by the 13th. There's plenty to get on with in the mean...

    Revell 1/32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V

Interesting Steve this is the assembly instructions for the radiator. Seems quite straight forward but once you start putting the components inside the cowling that's when the problems start. The radiator grills don't fit until you have sanded them into a new shape. When you get to section 35...

    Revell 1/32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V

Have spent the last few days building the cockpit. The detail is very good and includes over 40 parts. Not together yet weathering not complete yet. Instrument panel is made of three parts and I have used the decals provided for the dials which went down well with plenty of decal soft

    Revell 1/32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V

It's been a while since I posted a build thread so here we go with the Hawker Tempest Mk V. This is a re-boxing of the Special Hobby kit minus resin and p.e at around £40 it's not too pricey. The plastic is slightly darker than the normal Revell colour. It's difficult to explain but it's quite...

Revell 1/32 He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter

Colin the antenna was a challenge to say the least. I left fitting until the model was finished, then attached the struts that hold the antenna and painted them black. Then it was onto the antenna I painted them RLM 76 white and red. Each antenna was attached at a 45 degree angle here are the...

Revell 1/32 He 219 'UHU' Night Fighter

I've been busy building this one over the last few months. No build shots just the finished ones. No real problems with the build detail is good, fit no issues, decals a little thick but that's usual with Revell but they conformed well. This one is a big bird with a larger wingspan and fuselage...

    1/32 Trumpeter F6F 5N Hellcat night fighter

Thanks gents and just for you Barry here's the nose art not too close as the decal isn't the best quality as made up of many dots so as a result looks really naff close up.

    1/32 Trumpeter F6F 5N Hellcat night fighter

Well this ones finished at long last don't know why it's taken so long. There were no real issues although the fuselage halves were a challenge to get together. I followed Steves lead on the reverse masking of the stars and bars which worked really well. The tail wheel is very fragile and I...

Grumman F6F-5 'Hellcat' Trumpeter 1/32 Scale

Steve I found these online. Not a definitive but it does look like a wide seat. Maybe the Trumpeter is a little larger than it should be. I'm happy with mine but I know what you mean.

Trumpeter 1.32 F6F-5N Hellcat night fighter

Cockpit is complete kit p.e belts added. A dry fit in the fuselage has presented a few problems firstly the bulkheads around the cockpit area appear to be too wide and will need to be filed so the fuselage will close fully in front of the canopy. Secondly the fuselage doesn't line up behind the...

Trumpeter 1.32 F6F-5N Hellcat night fighter

Trumpeter 1.32 F6F-5N Hellcat night fighter

Hi All, it's been a while since I last built a model in fact the last one was the Me262 which I completed last August. There are no excuses this time as I'm confined to barracks for the next 12 weeks even Gill is not allowed out otherwise it will compromise me. I'm on immunosuppressant therapy...
