    Latest Acquisitions (2025)

Offered for sale by a fellow IPMS member at last night's meeting, good price and nice looking kit. Undecided whether it will be built as a Red Arrow or as a more military looking aircraft. The red plastic will be interesting to deal with whatever the decision.

This year's Airfix Club Kit arrived this afternoon. A quick check and all looks OK, one tiny aerial for the RAF version has come adrift from the sprue but was lurking in the bottom of the bag.

Yesterday's birthday haul, I might need the liquid courage for that box top Sea King scheme!

A 'freebie' courtesy of Amazon Vine, little clips marketed as ideal for Gundam kits to identify which frame is which. Only used on an Airfix Spitfire frame so far, and given there are only two it's probably overkill, but I did need a 'model' for my review which is part of the deal!

A quick trip to the Sussex Model Centre this morning... I want to give the 'rattle can' varnishes a go and am slowly increasing the Tamiya paint stash. The Spitfire just jumped off the shelf, lovely little kit and having given the contents of the box a once over, the moulding is still good: no...

    Tamiya Beaufighter Mk.VI in 1/48

This is the 1997 release of the Beaufighter and my first real attempt at producing a kit in that scale (we’ll pass over an Airfix Spitfire that was a bit of a disaster…). I had been told that Tamiya kits were well engineered and this was definitely the case, the option to build the engines and...

    Latest Acquisitions (2024)

The result of a spur of the moment look in a Burgess Hill antique shop. £9, unopened in its original 1971 packaging, everything appears in good condition apart from the decals, although I’ll see if sunbleaching has any effect before going aftermarket.

    Spots on the Internet (2024)

A fair weather cycling expedition that ended up being via the Sussex Model Centre who had received their delivery of the new Airfix Bf109 30 minutes earlier! Both kits look excellent mojo builds.

Rumour said that the local toy shop had some models....from a very limited selection this looked the most interesting.

    Back To The Hobby

Good evening. Since work intervened in about 1980 I drifted away from the hobby and a couple of years later committed the sin of throwing all my accumulated goodies away... Fast forward to last December and admiring an Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer which prompted my wife to suggest it as a Christmas...
