    The Motorbike Thread

Bright and breezy here today, so the ex-army Harley enjoyed a pleasant 65 mile trundle through the backroads. Found this wartime relic standing guard over a flooded field. I was parked over the road beside a very swollen river... Thanks for looking in.... Nick

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Well, there has been some progress this week, despite some disruption on the home front. I started off, like some of the other guys, dealing with the fuel tanks... Then all the wheels were prepped.. The hull construction was completed without too much drama. I used some 0.5mm rod to...

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Just a little more progress before going back to work for the next couple of days. Mostly doing the easy stuff, so most of the hull is done and started on the turret.... Looks like I'll be going with the ICM wheels. And I made a tentative start on the MiniArt tracks... More next week. Nick

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Not a huge update, but a bit of progress nonetheless. The upper and lower hull parts have been brought together and the axles fixed in place. All that is, except for the idlers. These will be left off until I have ascertained how well the tracks are going to fit and can adjust them accordingly...

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Another little bit of tinkering today. Glued the 'spring boxes'? into the lower hull. Maintenance and repairs must have been a right pain if that's how they were built! ICM provide a couple of steering levers and two seats to locate in the forward part of the lower hull.. these parts were...

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Not a lot of progress today. Made the most of the mild weather and got out on the bike for fifty or so miles this morning and then had a couple of hours on household chores this afternoon. So just a few more pieces added to the upper hull. I noticed that the MiniArt wheel set also has a...

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

Well, I have made a bit of a start.... First job was to remove all the parts ICM say are not required. I dare say Dave W. will be using these on his build. There followed the prep of the upper hull.... And then some build up of parts onto the upper hull.... So far all very nice. The...

    Airfix 1/48 P51D Mustang

Hi Guys, here is my completed example of the recently tooled 1/48 Airfix P51D Mustang. In keeping with my loose theme of building 'local' aircraft - when I do allied ones anyway - (not hard when you've lived all your life in Eastern England), this has been built out of the box as an aircraft...

    Nick's 1/35 ICM T34/85

I know we're not starting until next week, but I thought I'd set this up today as I will have limited access to a proper computer next week. So, here is the introduction as it'll likely be quick updates only for the first week or so of the official start. The kit is the T34/85 from the ICM...

Airfix (Thunder Models) 1/35 Airfield Tractor

I started this one last summer, the idea being that it would be a way of making me sit down for a few hours on the afternoon before starting four days on my feet at work. I also thought it would be a quick build :rolling:. As it turned out, I found it a real test with a lot of very small and...

    Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Looks a tricky build Dave.... I paid a visit to my most local proper shop today. They're mostly into the r/c stuff, but do stock a few kits and are handy for 'supplies'... Nick

    Soviet Tank Build GB Chat

Guys, this will be my planned build: The ICM T34/85 from their Battle of Berlin set.... And I'll be hoping to replace the horrible ICM rubber band tracks with these: Hope that's ok with Dave also building an ICM T34..... Nick

    The Motorbike Thread

Well, I took the 650 Suzuki out for a toodle round the backroads this morning. With the weather being so mild and all the Christmas and New year family stuff done, wifey expressed an interest in going for a spin. This is probably the first time she's been on the back of the bike during the month...

    Latest Acquisitions (2021)

This is a bit scary for me - haven't built a floaty thing in the past forty years or so. A Christmas present from my daughter so will be put at the front of the build queue rather than going into the stash... Nick

Your Favorite 1/76 1/72 Airfix Boxart

Got a couple of intact boxes of these too: I have a load of other figures in plastic bags that may be either airfix or matchbox..... And here are a couple of other airfix I found in the loft... Thats it for today.... Nick

Your Favorite 1/76 1/72 Airfix Boxart

Well here you go Lee. In all it's 'glory'..... Apologies for these last three pics of the full written instructions being upside down. I estimate that this has been with me for over forty years. It looks like I had made a start on the cockpit at some point and had already decided what scheme...

    Problem plastic

Bit of a random query perhaps.... I've been tinkering with a Takom kit recently and when I unwrapped the sprues they felt very slippery, like they'd been coated in a silicone spray or something similar. I gave them all a good wash in soapy water which didn't seem to have much effect. Now I'm...

Your Favorite 1/76 1/72 Airfix Boxart

This thread has prompted me to go into the loft on a search into the remnants of the teenage stash that has followed me for the past forty years... There are a few others plus some other makes and non-1/72 Airfix if you guys want to see them and Lee is happy for me to add them to...

    Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby

Well, despite it being the warmest day here for at least a couple of weeks, we also had some geese flying in a SW direction this morning. Not sure how far South they're headed or whether it's just to a large reservoir about 5 miles away. They were certainly making plenty of noise! Nick
