Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Funny you should mention that, I've never been more nervous in my life than when I was removing those bits from the support struts, If i had one bit of feedback to ITA it would be to increase the size of the base plate a tad so the individual parts are spread out a bit more. Whilst removing...

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Completed the pioneer tools fitted in the rear, I've created retaining straps with 1mm strips of Tamiya tape, and finally fitted the cab. Not much more to sort out before the final parts can be fitted and the weathering can begin.

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Upgrade parts arrived this morning, looking forward to fitting these bad boys, ... (also working out the possibilty of removing the airfix 'water nozzles' and replacing with the new versions without risking too much damage to the 'hull'.)

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

I've also bought the ITA external upgrade kit, just awaiting delivery, ended up buying it mainly due to the brush guards on the airfix kit being shocking, I did try to open them up but the result was garbage, they were way to 'messy' once completed and the exhaust cover is a total insult , it...

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

A tad more work today, this is cracking along brilliantly now, at this rate it won't be long before it's finished... Wheels masked up for the addition of the white line. completed, they just need an oil wash to knock down the harshness of the white paint a bit, also masked the cab up ready...

Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Inching closer to the finish line with a few little bits to nudge it along. first up, An initial attempt to hide the injection marks inside the top hatches.... a really bad result from Airfix..... but it is what it is, so out comes the mr surfacer 500.. Didn't work at all, so onto idea...
