    I won!

Last Sunday was our clubs last event, we have three in the year. I was surprised at the presentations to find I had won the best in show in the military vehicle section. It was for my 1/16 RC T-72 rebuilt with reactive armour and done as a Ukrainian version.

    Type XXI sunken sub.

Was moving stuff about in the work shed when I came across this ready built type XXI. Now, only two served war patrols at the end of WWII, one was sunk when she broke her tow cable and the other was scuttled by her crew in 45, this was raised in 57 and refitted as the Wilhelm Bauer. I did her...

    1/16 Su76i

Hi guys, long time no see, hope you are doing well? Anyway, I have been busy although slowly. My latest RC build is a SU76i, these are Russian repurposed PIII's, turrets removed and a casemate added with a 76.2mm gun. These are not to be mistaken as a tank destroyer they are SPG's. The Russians...

Help in deciding which one to sell.

Hi guys, I need a bit of help. I have just finished doing another 1/125 sub with interior (got from Dave, (Gern) ). Now, I have two of these subs, slightly different in colour and internal details, wanted to try some different colours etc. I have been asked if I would be willing to sell...

    Revell 1/125 U-boat, another crusty-rusty.

Thanks to Dave (Gern) for selling me his 1/125 U-boat with interior, thanks mate. I was pleased with how the other version came out so decided to have a crack at another. This time I did a darker green colour to simulate the sub is at a more deeper depth, the interior also has a sparser look...

Moving on in the modelling world.

I am doing a bit of modelling and doing the RC tanks however, health has certainly deteriorated more in the past couple of years. In fact, it has changed so much that my thinking is starting to move away from building and heavy RC stuff and concentrate on maybe a model railway in the work shed...

    1/16 RC Chieftain.

Hi guys, I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I would weather a club members 1/16 RC Chieftain. Now this is a £470 bit of kit so I was, well bricking them. He wanted rust, etc and I said no, it wouldn't have any, these tanks only went on exercises came back, washed down and lived under a roof...

    1/16 Fixed position 88

Hi guys. I was given this 3D print of a fixed position 88mm Flak gun from the nice gentleman who supplied the 3D reactive armour blocks for my 1/16 T-72. It did not print properly was scruffy with barrel issues so he let me have for free for me to 'play-about-with'. My first thought was that...

First run of the RC Ukrainian T-72

Hi guys, took the modified T-72 to the club yesterday. Other members brought a Chieftain and a rather splendid FV432 Bulldog all scratch built with full RC, gun recoil, lights, indicators. My T-72 is a bit of bum-dragger I noticed so, need to have a look at beefing up the rear sprocket...

1/125 Type VII sunken cutaway version.

I got this prebuilt with bits missing free from a facebook group member, which was very nice of them. I added piece to the interior, and used a very fine powder to simulate silt, rust etc. This was problematic as I struggled to get some areas properly. I thought, as it was old it may have come...

    Spanner's Tamiya 1/35 Russian T62-A (Lee's Russian Tank G.B. 2022)

I must admit Ron, for a hairy sticker the finish is awesome.

1/16 T-72 Upgraded to Ukrainian version

I actually started working on this project a while ago and it has been an on/off piece for months. I have a 1/16 RC Diagostini T-72 that didn't work so I redid the electrics and was never really happy with it so started to rework it. Now, I also have a T-90 and this was to be a playmate but...

    Airfix Minikit 1/100 'Zero'

A model boat club member kindly gave me a Airfix minikit of a Zero, these are pre-painted but need assembly. As some of you are aware, me and the 'wingy-things' have never gotten along but, this would be a easy and relaxing build, it was. I repainted the pilot and weathered the aircraft, I...

Crusty-rusty sub at its new home.

My latest sunken sub model has gone to a new home and I got a picture sent to me of it in situ. Pride of place in front of the TV. :thumb2:

Title removed fed up of changing them from all UPPERCASE

Calling this done, I have spent hours weathering and trying various paints to get a really slimy look. I also added some brass round...things...they are the ends from 1/16 bolts to the base to make that more interesting. So, fellow members may I present my latests (I have already made 4)...

    1/144 VIIC/41.

Yep, managed to get one at a reasonable price and yes, you probably guessed it, it be another crusty-rusty. I built, bent, dent and broke the sub and it has had its crusty application. The pics are from the first pass of weathering and only part done, other side needs doing.

    1/72 AIRFIX TIGER 1

I am calling this one finished, with hands a trembling and eyes a squinting, happy I managed to complete it. I have to be honest, it was difficult work over a few days but, I am really pleased with how it turned out and, although I broke a couple of bits (and reglued), I didn't lose anything...

    1/72 AIRFIX TIGER

I got a couple of braille scale kits for Xmas from my nieces. A 1/72 Airfix Tiger and their classic range 1/76 tank transporter. Now, with the problems I have with tremors and other issues this scales are normally off the list as they are just too small and fiddly...but, I decided to have a go...

    Hospital diagnosis.

Went yesterday to see the neurologist about a possible Parkinson's disease diagnosis and was told I do not have it, however...I do have essential tremor which is common but, normally after 60ish. I have had it in my 40's and am now into my 50's. For those that don't have it it is a progressive...
