I started this on Wednesday evening, so am a little bit ahead in terms of posting. Part 2 is the construction of the pedestal. Again as with Part 1 - it's fairly straightforward. All the parts cut ready for cleaning & assembly. I cant get over these elevator wheels - such thin plastic...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

Thanks Steve :thumb2: :thumb2: , thought it might be - looking at the Humbrol colors. Seem to remember reading somewhere that RLM02 was the same color as RAL7021, but as usual can't find it when you need it!! :rolling: This one is dated 1940 - H27 + H145 splinter on the top surfaces which I...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

No stickers yet - decided to leave the Spitfire for now and assemble the Me110, then all the stickers on both aircraft. So over the last couple of days I have cleaned most of the flash from the sprue, assembled the main components of the Me110 and primed everything with grey primer. So it...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

A lot of us "cut our teeth" building little kits like this one, almost racing to complete it. I think duck egg blue was the first color I used underneath an aircraft. Painting it whilst the glue was still tacky!! and probably completed it in less than a day, including the decals!! ;) . In...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

Well I've followed the comprehensive instructions to the letter !! So this one is nearly finished :smiling: Cut a small piece of sprue & glued it onto the fuselage behind Polo's seat. This fills the little gap and also allows a better fit of the canopy. After some hacking and whittling...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

A bit late posting this one - Followed the comprehensive instructions yesterday - and ended up with this!! :flushed: Prop spinner to be painted before attaching - but after I've painted the plane. Tested the canopy against the fuselage - there's a gap so that will need filling. Also...

    Paul's Airfix dogfight double.1/72

Started with the Spitfire first. Washed all the bits in soapyish water then let them air dry. Did a bit of fettlin' to remove the flash from the flappy bits & the spinny bit plus anything else that kept still long enough. Quick coat of white primer on everything except the spinny bit and the...

    Revel 1/72 Lancaster

Andy, From ww2aircraft.net I'm no expert on the "Lanc" but from what I have read - early/mid production "Lanc's" had the small windows painted over. Later war "Lancs" were built without the windows. The "Lanc" had a serial No LM739 - and first saw service in September 1944. HTH. Paul.

Monica, Looks good so far, interesting and unusual diorama coming to life. Colin, Here's another one!!!! Copyright to bombdisposalclub.org.uk I too thought it was a bit fanciful - surely they would have broken up on impact? Obviously another bit of German over engineering. Paul. :smiling:
