It’s quite a simple little thing, and it only took me a couple of hours to get the internals more or less done. I’ll paint before I go any further. It’s screaming for some extra bits and pieces, but I’m determined this will be an OOB build. Been a while since I have worked on this scale!- Jack L

Hole cut out of the side, but this is only the 'inner skin'. Wired up the lighting as well. Red and white at the flick of a switch. Extremely pleased with the result Need to pluck up the courage to cut a hole in the 'outer skin'. That really is the point of no return! And one of the border...- Jack L

Bit of progress on some actual plastic. For the amount this kit costs, it’s a bit dissapointing. All of the smaller parts have hard to remove seam lines, injection marks or both, usually in hard to reach places or on details. But there we go. Just dry fitted for the mo while I paint the sub...- Jack L

Added some make up, and the 6 kit parts and pretty happy. I added a blob of micro clear or whatever it's called to the respective dials and unfortunately two have dried opaque but not a lot to do about it. I realised too late that the five kit dials are all at 12 o-clock which bugs me a bit, but...- Jack L

Well nearly managed to ruin it…I really dislike Mig paints, never been able to get results. But, I had the colour, so thought I would give them another go. Spent ages playing with paint, thinner and pressure, putting paint to plastic when thinking I had the right combination when splat…a huge...- Jack L

Wonder if anyone, @boatman maybe, could offer me some LED advice. I'm making a U-Boat conning tower, and think it would lend itself well to some lighting, maybe a red and white light option. I've not done electronics since school and cannot remember that far back. I bought some off ebay but a)... -

Thanks all for the help with the reference material, been a massive help. I think I have finished tinkering with the internals. Have just given it a primer coat to see what it will look like all in one shade. If happy, it will get an off white coat, and then I can add in the kit parts and wire...- Jack L

Thanks Andy. In my impatience, i decided to ignore all the suggestions above...and try the metalwork/jewellery route. I initially dismissed the idea, but then had a go. Some copper wire, bent round a thick paintbrush, snipped at the join and then soldered and filed down. Used some plastic...- Jack L
