Latest Acquisitions (2022)
I was really impressed with Hubert Meyer's book about the 12.SS.Pz.Div in Normandy and i've wanted to know what they did after Falaise. I did some searching around and have found Hubert Meyer has done a follow up book (Vol 2) from Falaise onwards until the end of the war. It has very good... -

Cheers Andy & John Another first for me. Using weathering pigments. I've used Vallejo European Dust wash and European Earth pigment to try and simulate some mud build up. Will see how it looks when dry.- AlanG

Dunkelgrun added. What i enjoy about this type of painting is that it wouldn't be masked. It was all done free hand and therefore susceptible to overspray. I'm sure old Hans didn't care too much if he went over another colour.- AlanG

Rotbraun added. Might add some more after i've added the green. This is because the picture i've seen of the 12.SS.Pz Div one i am trying to depict is very heavily mottled with very little Dunkelgelb showing through. I'll also paint the wheels later- AlanG

Just started to clean up the ancillaries and weapons to be added to the vehicle. It's time like this that Tamiya reminds me that small bits and fat, arthritic fingers generally don't go together well lol- AlanG

That moment when you look at the figures and something just doesn't add up. Figured it out. I put the drivers legs on the figure jumping out of the vehicle. All sorted now after mucho sweareo!- AlanG

Started to build the figures up. I eventually intend to show them in a diorama along with the Sd.Kfz.251 and a PAK40. Gave the vehicle floor a coat of Vallejo Steel, covered with a coat of AK Worn effects so i can do some chipping on the floor.- AlanG
