Pacific Carrier/Aircraft chat thread.
Now we can start getting excited. Just a reminder, "Any carrier or carrier based aircraft from the war in the Pacific." Stuck the last few bits on this shelf queen, blew off the dust and pushed the weathering pencil exhaust stains about a bit more, should maybe of let the dry before photographing this. Now down to 4 shelf queens and 3 "ongoing".- KarlW

Karls RAF journey PT.3 Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.Vb
Another cold shed session, masked up and attached the canopy. Burnished Tamiya tape down with a cocktail stick and cut with a fresh pointy scalpel blade. Decided Tamiyas white tape not great for this. So just about ready for primer, black basing on this to give that "technique" a go I think.- KarlW

Too cold in shed at the moment, heater only keeps it above the dew point to stop things getting rusty/damp. Wings went on with tight fitting roots, minimal fettling at the seams and there's one small gap on the underside, Tamiya engineering ftw. Started masking up the canopy, must remember the...- KarlW

If you want a quick Spitfire in quarter scale it's your kit, only downside is some fences on the upper wings that need removed and then the panel line re-scribed.- KarlW

Someone planted this idea in my head on the latest acquisitions page after I posted a Corsair, well the suggestion was just a straight up Corsair GB but it got me thinking. IRIAF Tomcats
Was trying to replicate the green coating on the centre panel of the canopy that the HUD needed on the earlier Tomcats. Took about 5 attempts to get to this. I was thinking it was still a bit dark until I found this picture. So am happier now. Seam line to sort out now and then get masked...- KarlW

Swore I wasn't buying any more kits this year, but the box art markings just called to me, that yellow anti-glare panel made my nethers tremble.......
