    GWH Victor B2 1/144 scale

So onwards! Really enjoyed building Vulcan in small scale so moving onto this and also it will clear space for more kits! Out the box shot below, seems good though not as nice as the Trumpeter kit.

    Trumpeter 1/144 Avro Vulcan

Having just returned I though I'd get back into the swing with something small and hopefully where I can get a quick and reasonable result. Box opening and hobby zone photos attached.

    Air brush varnish

Good day all, Hope everyone is enjoying the new year. As I pick most my modelling "skills" up from Youtube and websites and forums here there are often times when I see things and think how on earth did I not know that?! One such instance has occurred recently. Watching a video of a complete...

    Hornby Dublo restoration project

So with this batch I have changed a few things to enable me to mask easier. I am now using acid etch rattle can primer as it seems to provide a far better and harder base than my acrylic primer. Also after the first coat I have given 3 coats of gloss varnish and allowed over 24 hours before...

So redone the tracks, not 100% but a lot better than they were I think.

    BMW R80 restoration

So pulled heads off and bores are good. Will all be good once new rings are in and all washed and ready to reassemble with new seals.

    BMW R80 restoration

Looking at what came out of the engine today I'm leaning towards fully strip and rebuild. Not such clean oil and I think for the extra work a strip and rebuild is the way to go.

    BMW R80 restoration

So I've already split gearbox/clutch and no signs of leaks though clutch will be replaced as it doesn't look great. Front cover etc is all off as needed to do this to remove engine so will replace timing chain. Plan to take off heads so I can see inside as well and check for scoring/damaged...

    Heng Long 1/16th tanks

So have put tracks on the KT and started chipping raised edges. Something I haven't done before but coming out ok. Not sure how it will look when I spray white over it all. Anyway found chipping good but it's hard to get the point where's it's enough and not too much.... Tried to show where the...

    BMW R80 restoration

So the Honda is done and the next project is commenced! This old girl is battered. She was donated to me or destined for a scrap yard. A lifetime of outside storage has taken its toll but nothing a full rebuild, plenty of parts washing, vapour blasting, powder coating etc can't solve. Intend...

    Tamiya 1:32 F-14

So after a long break and a lot of trains being done did a bit more on the cockpit yesterday. Still have to glue in pilot's seat, stripe ejection seat handles in front and do pilot seat straps but pretty much done apart from that. Certainly think this Aires set makes a nice.cockpiy and a bit...

    Honda VFR400R Restoration

So apart from exhaust, oil and filter change and a spacer for the front wheel, it's done. Rode it round the units tonight, must be the first time it's turned a wheel in almost 10 years! Oh and I also need some wing mirrors ideally.

    Heng Long 1/16th tanks

I guess these came built so I can't do a lot about that but I thought after seeing some online I would give them a bit of a paint job. The Challenger has sat idle for 2 years and needed power switches cleaning and I also found the right joy stock broken so this was unsoldered, disassembled...

    Hornby Dublo restoration project

So dig in the consumables cupboard and found low and behold a bag of enthusiasm! Tim, it looks like BR green until put next to a BR green one so I'm not sure. That's sprayed in Rail match GWR green. Laurie, below are some more red ones. Two are in BR crimson (lighter) and two in Crimson lake...
