Have been back at this one after a short pause. My cat Valde was killed by a lorry last week, so my desire to build on this was very far away. Phew! That was hard to write... ...sorry. Any how Looks more lorry like now rather than a pile of bits.- Ian M

Got these today The much needed clear red. As it happened there was just enough to do the bits I needed to do, but a great thing I bought this anyway as some shmuck put a ruddy great finger print in the still tacky surface..... Oh Bollllll........ The rest was just filler. lol Heard only good... -

After a couple of days for the paint to harden I got the crane put together. The ends of the replaced pins and the hard hydraulic lines need painting silver or the like, then the hoses can be sorted. I also cut off the naff control handels and replaced them with thin piano wire. but you cant see...- Ian M

Ladles and Jellyspoons, I can believe it. I am almost out of paint! The cab needs at least on more coat. I have a tiny bit left that is to take the edges and the bottom of corners with and that is that! I need to order some more paint! On the plus side it is quite smooth and has some shine...- Ian M

Glad to have you look in. The biggest lump of resin is the bonnet (engine cover). the overall weight? I'll have to weigh it when I'm done, lol. So I was looking through the bits and found there was a rather obvious thing I had forgotten... The conversion set from KFS is apparently for a 'naked' tractor, that is with no side skirts and all the tanks and things on display... So Here is sort of what I had... Brian's 1/200 HMS Hood
Hood did have I'd markings on top of her A turret most info points to it being a blue and red roundel it was quite large and covered most of the top. I think a 1inch blue with a 1/2 inch red will do the job. The letters Chris is referring to is the ships name. It didn't have a name plate but...- Ian M

So I got the internal cab built so I could build the outer shell around it. The kits front panel/windscreen was a fun part as after cutting down, there are only three contact points until the rest or the front went on. But I got there. The Resin part from KFS that probably has a proper name...- Ian M

Last ones for today, Better put an hour in out in the garden in a while. Rear hubs fitted, along with the particle filter, exhaust pipe, and diverse cooling pipes to and from the cooler Good job its not real and I am not a fitter, the motor would be very leaky and I would be looking for a new...- Ian M

Moving forward. Slowly. Most of the priming is done. Ran out of holders and room so still more to do yet! Some parts that are black have gotten a coat or two of Tamiya Semi gloss. or is it semi matt? Satin? what ever. lol You know what I mean. Some of the internals for the cab... I managed...- Ian M

It really was/is weird. After the visit to the bubble bath, the parts looked and felt OK. But as soon as the paint hit them..... yikes. As can be seen here the primer is being repelled in corners. Some places the primer is OK but others thin and patchy. Guess which one is the plastic and...- Ian M

Just grabbing a bit here and there at the moment. Got the front bumper/lower grill and lights fixed to the front arches. Bits of engine and bits with body parts ready for a splodge of primer. More later. Comments welcome.- Ian M

Our garden
Carina aka SWMBO is sooooo close to getting her fire pit. WE have been doing the base, two segments at a time, for a few weeks. Yesterday we finished the last segment. Now we just need a low 30 - 40 cm stone wall around the back 2/3 More news as it happens.- Ian M

Well I had some extra time on my hands the other day so I hid in the man cave while SWMBO did her thing... The serious surgery could begin. First off the bottom of the doors had to go: Marked off with tape, then I like to use a sanding stick as a scribe ruler where I can. They dont slide about...- Ian M

The misses went off on a girl trip with 'her next door' so I got to play for a while: They say the first cut is the hardest, but in this case not so much. Line the different rails up with the brackets and saw it off! Then glue the other, longer rails on. CA and a couple of reinforcing...- Ian M
