    Missing Part/Poor service

Four weeks back I got my hands on a Dragon kit, the Guardians of the Galaxy Star lord kit. Having started to assemble and paint it I found one piece missing, as I had the kit from an online Facebook trader who also has a store I contacted him and he said he would contact his supplier for a...

    Vulcan?

Ok so I was at Cosford and as soon as I arrived there was a great deal of fuss over the Vulcan and this been its final year of displays. Now forgive me but, Yes its a nice aircraft but I don't get dreamy about it, forgive the pun but it leaves me cold. I know people will quote what an icon it...

Ade's F-4F Phantom II WTD 61 "Flight Test"

After a very short voting period the Phantom just edged it over the Spitfire, so here we go. Feel free to pull up a chair, I'll try and post as many progress shots as I can, this is going to be a huge build for me and the decals at the end look very daunting! Here's the box and sprue shots...

Ade's British Fleet Air Arm Hellcat Mk I

Finished my Hellcat a few days after John's, not as flash as his but armed to the teeth ;) This was my first Hobbyboss aircraft kit and all said and done it was a great kit, the detail was just enough to make me happy and the decals were easy enough to work with. Anyway hope you like it...

    Cosford Airshow 2015

Is anyone else going to this show? As I understand it's the only RAF show this year and each day see's more aircraft added to the display list. I went last year and really enjoyed it, though the 2 hours to get off the car park at the end wasn't much fun :) http://www.cosfordairshow.co.uk/...

What's next onto the workbench,,, your thoughts please

So I'm just putting the finishing touches to my Hellcat and wondering what to do next. My most recent builds are in order. A German Halftrack, F-16 Thunderbirds, BF 109 Instrument panel, Battlestar Galactica, M1A1 Abrams and my soon to be Hellcat. So I've put it to the vote on what to do...

    Spraying Vallejo Matt/Gloss Varnish?

I've got a couple of the little 17ml bottles to try out but when I spray them they don't come out evenly, my thoughts are that they are a little thick for my A/B so I turned up the pressure but still not getting a good feed. Could I add some of the Vallejo Airbrush Thinner to it and thin it...

Ade's British Fleet Air Arm, Hellcat Mk I

Was just plodding along building this in my own sweet time when I suddenly realised that I could pop it into this Group Build :) Oh and for the record I started my before John's lol, I'm sure after he popped round to mine that he got inspired ;) Anyway here's my progress so far...

To fold or not to fold that is the question?

I'm tinkering around with a Hellcat MkI and I've now got a choice as to wings folded or not, if I have them down it makes painting so much easier :) Though if they are folded they could look much cooler :) So , what's peoples thoughts on this? Adrian

    How many have you built?

Since my return to modelling I've been plodding away at all sorts of model subjects, ranging from WWII planes to modern armour. So doing some quick sums, in the 5 years I've been back building I've built ,,,,,,,37 subjects!!!! That's 7.4 a year. You may not know your count but what would...

    Ade's M1A1 Abrams MBT

After a little fight towards the end I've managed to finish this very nice Tamiya kit. I tried a few different things as I went, you'll see from my build thread I did the non slip texture, I also had a go at oil washes for the first time. I think I learnt a lot form this build in...

    Font type on Abrams?

Would anyone know the font style that's used on the M1A1 Abrams? I've managed to wreck the number 4 on the 40 decal and was thinking to use a letraset but wouldn't have a clue of the font style I need. Or if anyone happens to have a spare set of numbers I'd be willing to purchase them :)...

    Flory's Pigments

I recently purchased Flory's new pigments set and after using it thought I would post a little review in case it may be of use to others. So the set comprises of 8 pigments and costs £31.50 with postage at £3.50, broken down that's £4.38 a pot. You can but them individually as well. The set...

    Revells Battlestar Galactica

After struggling with the solder iron I've finally managed to get my Battlestar Galactica finished, sadly I think I need to practice my picture taking skills next as I don't think the images show it to it's full potential. For my first time using LED's in numbers and I think it's turned out...

    Galactica base?

As I'm nearing the end of this build I'm in need of a base to hide a 9v battery in, has anyone any suggestions please? The stand that the ship fixes to isn't deep enough to hide the battery. Adrian

    Tamiya's M1A1 Abrams 120mm Gun MBT

After seeing a History channel programme on the Battle of 73 Easting, I just had to build this awesome bit of kit. Seems last year I built mainly SciFi, this year I'm build conventional kits :) I'm building this straight out of the box as a learning project ready to do my M3A3 Bradley later...
