    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

This is as far as I am going with the ships launches. May add rudders. next job is to improve these ‘blobs’. Going to use the Borodino build pics as reference again.

I think that’s about it as far as detailing goes, quite happy with their appearance.

opinions please, that’s a bit of ships ladder with alternate rungs removed, think it looks a bit clunky. full image Ian

Finished with the scratch build, diving into the PE spares for railings etc. Not accurate but a bit more interesting to look at.

More scratch work on ships launches.

    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

Started on ships launches, pretty dire, so I decided to hack them about a bit. Trying to find references that are clear. Not much success so I am basing the work on pictures from a ‘Borodino’ build thread. As I said before, not going for total accuracy, just something that looks a bit more...

Base layer of Liquitex laid down, will play around with it as it drys. It will need 24/48 hours to dry clear then I will look at som colour and then another layer of Liquitex. Gonna play around with all the armament while it is drying.

    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

Transferred “Knyaz” from her “dry dock” to her final resting place. Afraid I might damage any more delicate parts if i left this till later. Mainly just finishing the smaller parts an adding them on. This also means I can get a base layer of Aquitex down to see how the seascape will work.

Also, masts are completed ready for a little weathering.

    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

Started on ships boats, base paintwork on whalers etc. will add some extra details to launches to make them a little less basic. Also some initial work on the main and secondary armament, seen various different references covering detail on these so will apply my working premis of using spare...

    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

Finished all of the railings. And a dry fit of the masts. A couple of mist coats of Matt varnish have hidden a lot of the ‘ickies’. Got some more weathering to do to hide a few newish looking painted bits. When I did the original base spray job I used a mix that I thought looked like a really...

    1/350 Knyaz Suvorov

Added some rope walks to the lower and middle yard arms (scratch from 0.02mm brass from Albion Alloys). Not accurate but thought the mast areas looked bare. Decided that this model is so crud that I will give up on a lot of the planned detailing and just concentrate on the really crude...

These rails are actually 3 bar IJN rails from Tom’s Modelworks. i originally started with some pre-dreadnaught rails from Peter at Altantic Models but they were sooooo fine and I ended up scrapping too many attempts. Even these are a ‘b*4!*+@‘ but I think it’s more down to the weird deck...

    Hello from Graham

Hi everyone Just joined this forum, came across by complete accident, but like the look and content. Pre-dreadnaught warships and WWII ‘small ships’, plus WWI armoured vehicles, also ‘Toons’ for a little light relief!!
