    Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty

The build is still slowly progressing, the stern windows, nameplate and ornamental carving was completed. Since the photograph, the glued joint line has been touched up. This wasn't easy at this scale. Next the rudder hinge detail, which I started masking last night, the canons and anchors. The...

    Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty

Some further progress with this kit. The bow assembly is done and the hull is painted. To finish the hull, there are still the anchors, side windows, rear windows, deck canons and deck winch. Then it gets interesting with the masts, sails and rigging.

    Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty

Still making slow progress with this one. The white under the water has only had a first coat and I will probably give it two more before mixing in approx. 10% Ochre for the finishing coats to match the rowing boat's hull. The strip above the white, which is not yet painted will be anthracite...

    Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty

Some further progress made with this little kit. I've placed a pen against the hull as an indication of the size. The hull isn't glued together in this latest photograph, there is still more cleaning up to be done and some painting first. Looking forward to progressing further now more paints...

    Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty

Recently received this kit as a gift and looking forward to the build. Looking on the internet there are many good reviews of the kit, despite the original release being in 1956 by Revell, Venice, Calif. Looking at my kit, some of the parts show dates from 1978 and 1984, it's obviously had...

    Completed: Benledi Cargo-Liner, Revell

There aren't a great number of cargo ship models made and I couldn't resist buying this old Revell kit. The 1:480 scale kit was first released by Revell G.B. when they had design and manufacturing in Potters Bar. The full sized vessel was built for Ben Lines by Charles Connell of Glasgow in...

    Revell Benledi H-315

Rigging, with EZ line now completed, thanks for the advice with this product Ron. Decals, and possibly flags to add, after these, the final photographs will be added to the completed section.

    Revell Benledi H-315

Getting nearer with this old kit now. The missing white mast and lifeboat have been fashioned from sprue. Just the rigging and waterslide decals left to add.

    Revell Benledi H-315

Time for a W.I.P. update with the model of this old, yet beautifully styled 1960s cargo vessel. Now on the 'home run', with this one, the remaining work involves cementing more deck cranes, masts, a mast to fabricate, the rigging and the waterslide transfers. Thanks for taking the time to have...

    Latest Acquisitions (2021)

Revell's 1:110 scale HMS Bounty. Unsure whether to build with the kit supplied full sails, aftermarket full sails, aftermarket furled sails or no sails.

    Revell Benledi H-315

Dave, thanks for the tip to use black film trim, unfortunately this time work had progressed too far with painting. Next time it will be a must do. Been making slow but steady progress, the windows are finished and the hull has had the red, green and white at the top painted. There is still a...

    Spots on the Internet 2020

After seeing the Russian icebreaker above on Zvezda's facebook page, the company have now added these 2021 planned releases.

    Revell Benledi H-315

Slow but steady progress with the cabins. The windows at the front as raised indications in the mouldings are nothing like the ones in the real ship. The top row are ok except for one window which is shown as a double and should be a single. For the other rows, I filed the raised indications off...

    Queen Mary

When I was faced with this problem on the RMS Olympic, seem to remember carefully drilling small holes with a hand drill (similar to the Revell one). https://www.revell.de/index.php

    boatman's 1/72 HMS Tiger C20 build

Hi Chris, since we last discussed my little r/c models, which I just couldn't let go, I've started a new build recently. I think reading your build thread has become infectious. I said "NO MORE R?C MODELS", but.... I started building a little 24" (600mm) r/c paddler, 'Royal Falcon' based on the...

    Revell Benledi H-315

Making slow but steady progress, a few more photographs now the hatches have covers, the cabin superstructure has been fitted as has the foredeck. Next is a job which isn't going to be easy, the rear superstructure cabin needs the front and side pieces fitting. It's in two halves with a joint...

    Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Couldn't resist buying this Revell 'Pinta' when it appeared on ebay. Bought from a good seller in the USA, and I've paid for international P&P. The kit is from 1992 when Revell were in Illinois USA and tied with Monogram. First impressions are that it should build into a lovely little miniature...

    boatman's 1/72 HMS Tiger C20 build

Hi Chris, I found some photographs of my remaining two r/c models, the first is the ready-to-run tug Southampton. For anyone wanting a boat to get on the water these are ideal. Priced at around £160. The only model making is tying the tyres on. Mine was an early (2009) version with 27mhz radio...
