    Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78

Good evening Gentlemen, I have just finished the latest version of Tamiya's Louts 78. It was mostly up to the usual Tamiya high standard and went together pretty well, but if any of you ever do this kit I would say I had trouble (mostly my own fault)( with 2 areas. 1/ Black paint is a pain and...

    1/8 Lotus 72D - 1972 British GP Pocher

If you mean the fuel pipes John, I find a hairdryer helps to soften then enough (I'm just in the same process on a Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78)

    The Escort that never was.

Thank you for your comments. I forgot to add a picture of the underside. Overall the kit comes with an interesting mix of components. E.G. the wheels and 'trans am' style spoiler are rather late 70's/early 80's, but the suspension and the Girling Powerstop single-circuit brake servo are all very...

    The Escort that never was.

So, its finally finished. Its the first time I've done a 'kit' like this i.e. 3D printed and it was a struggle most of the way. the actual resin has the structural rigidity of dry spaghetti, so many of the parts, especially the rear axle, had components that were too fragile and snapped off too...

    1/12 Ford Escort Mk1

A bit more progress, but its fighting me all the way. Had to get the belts, wiring etc from other sources. the front and rear axles and suspension come as one part, but they are very brittle and so I've ended up having to make replacments for some parts . But slowly getting there...

    1/12 Ford Escort Mk1

Update time! So I've finally got some colour on it. These pics are after 3 umpteen coats of primer, 3 coats of Blue, 3 coats on the orange stripe and two coats of 2K clearcoat. Now to let it dry and properly cure before the decals. I know its not perfect. I had tow big instances of paint...

    1/12 Ford Escort Mk1

Well, Heres a progress report. I bit the bullet and glued the two halves together, but , as I mentioned before, I stuck a sheet of plastic card to the underside of the roof to give it some rigidity. I've lost count of how many times I filled/sanded/primered the body to lose all the gaps and...

Purple GTR - The Flying Obergine!

Nice work Matt. I agree with Stefee, you've got to build models to suit your own mindset and keep it enjoyable. trying to emulate the skill levels of some of the modelling Gods on You-tube would reduce me to tears and take all the fun out of it. (Much as I have massive respect for their skills...

    1/12 Ford Escort Mk1

Hello all, I have recently purchased a Kit of a Mk1 Ford Escort in 1/12 scale. This is not from any of the major manufacturers (they've missed their chance there...) but is from a guy in Germany who 3D prints them. Its the first time I've had any kit like this. It has no instructions (it...

    Italeri Maclaren MP4/2

Recently finished this one. It fought me all the way, especially the bodywork which didn't want to play ball and took considerable fiddling to get a half-decent fit, but frankly, as you can see from the photos, its still far from perfect, but I'm wary of forcing the panels for fear of breaking...

    1/12 Maclaren

Evenin' all, I recentley purchased the Italeri 1/12 Maclaren MP4/2C. This is a re-issue of the Protar kit, but has a few upgrades, i.e. better decals and some PE parts, but I found it to be one of the kits I've had to do the most cleaning up and improving of almost all the parts so far. Theres a...

    Top Fuel Funny car 1/16

Bonjour All, Just finished this kit. Its from Atlantis models in the USA, although I got this one via Germany, but its essentially a re-issue of the Revell 1/16 dragsters of the 70's , many of which I enjoyed building then. Of course, now there are a lot more super detailing parts available...

    Belkits Mk 1 Escort

Hello all, Well, after the 1/12 Lancia its back down to 1/24th and the Belkits Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600. Performance Mk1 escorts were the top dogs when I was young, although I couldn't afford one and had to make do with Mk 1 & 2 Cortina GTs' They weren't bad for their day though.... So I was...

    Italeri 1/12 Lanci Delta HF

Well, its as finished as possible but without , as I mentioned in my 'under construction' thread, the decals. I'll see how I feel about getting the SanRemo rally decals later. Its been very trying at times, especially the glass. Does anyone of you use the Revell glass cement? I find it a bit...

Italeri Lancia delta HF 1/12 scale

Good evening gentlemen. I have recently been working my way through the Italeri Lancia delta HF 1/12 scale. Its a kit I've had my eye on for some time and looked really good from all I could glean from the internet. I haven't completed it yet , but I was wondering if any of you had, and if so...

    Tamiya Ferrari 312T4 1/12

As I posted the engine build in the 'In progress' thread I thought I'd better show the finished job. Its far from perfect of course, and I always finish a kit thinking "I'd really like to do that again now I know all the pitfalls" . But that's out of my financial reach for now. Having spent...

    1/12 Tamiya Ferrrari 312 T4

Hello all, New boy here. I am currently working through the kit in the title. I did a lot of these great Tamiya Formula 1 kit when I was a teenager (about 40 odd years ago :flushed: ) and have recently re-started doing some serious model making again, so thought these would be ideal. I've...

    Bonjour

Evenin' all. I am English but living in France. I did a lot of car models when I was younger - about 40 odd years ago - and have got back into it seriously again in the last year or so. A lot has changed! mostly for the better of course.
