    Airfix Mk1 Spitfire 1/72 Tintin

So good this kit, I made two! This one though continuing my Tintin theme; from The Land of The Black Gold. The Emir of Kemedi’s air force markings. Enjoy!

    Airfix Mk1 Spitfire 1/72

Had a little side project going as I haven’t had focus time for the bigger 190 so…Spitfire! Is there a better value kit than this? So much fun, so little cost. A real beauty!

    Eduard 1/48 FW190 A-6 profipack

This kit is stunning in its accuracy of fit, an absolute joy! All together now, just waiting to fit the nose cowel and a final section of the cockpit plus the front part of the canopy and then on with some external priming. Wheel bays done and undercarriage painted.

    Eduard 1/48 FW190 A-6 profipack

Next up… Some more Wurger action. The top IP is a bit of a ‘stick and hope’ as you sandwich the fuselage halves together. Think i got it right after a couple of attempts. Not great for Eduard but the rest was spot on in the office. All PE went well.

I cannot find ez line in the U.K. but found some aero rigging. Just waiting for some superglue advancer. In the mean time she is looking nice I think.

Hawker Hart 1/72 - Tintin decals

Thanks Gents! Some progress pics. Any tips on rigging? There is none with the kit so will have to be scratch.

Hawker Hart 1/72 - Tintin decals

Picked up this little Hawker Hart. Will be doing it in the style of the plane from Tintin’s adventure, Cigars of the Pharaos.

    Tamiya 1/48 Mitsubishi Zero A6/M5 5a Zeke

Many mistakes with the paintwork meant more heavy weathering was needed but in the end, I am happy with it. :-)

    Mitsubishi Zero

Right! honed a new method for the painted hinomaru. Used for topside of wings and then final yellow leading edge stripe done and chipped. Now for some varnish and the rest of the stencils and decals.

    Mitsubishi Zero

Yes John, is that what causes the shinier spots? Hoping to fix it with the varnish. Got the fuselage done too. In hindsight was too focused on my method and lost focus on the position so they are slightly too low on the body…

    Mitsubishi Zero

    Mitsubishi Zero

A spot of leave and no I am back in the game! Some more progress; decided to go with a nice well worn look on the green topside and show some primer and aluminium through. Used AKs extreme metal white aluminium so will need to wait for it all to harden overnight now.

    Mitsubishi Zero

A little more work and a test fit of the ol’ radial. And I forgot the O2 bottles! Managed to fit them in from underneath though.

    Eduard 1/48 Tempest TT 1955

Went for something a little different with the second Tempest of the Eduard dual kit. A 1955 target tug. I was nervous because of the hazard stripes underneath and the metallic finish up top but needn’t have worried. Used AK Interactives Extreme Metal polished aluminium and some panels modulated...

    Airfix Bristol Beaufort 1/72

What a lot of fun! It has it’s imperfections this kit but they are mostly inside. In the end it’s a great kit with lots of detail on the outside, decent depth panel lines, lots of little bits to add on making it look busy. I added a load of pipes and little maps and things inside which will...
