    Hasegawa 1/72 Robotech/Macross Valkyrie Battroid

Hi ya all! As you may or may not be aware, I a huge fan-boy of the Robotech/Macross anime series, especially the mecha. I have build a 1/72 Regult Assualt Pod, a 1/72 Destroid Defender and 1/48 Valkyrie fighter jet. My next build is my favourite, the 1/72 Valkyrie Battroid! The Battroid for...

    1/35 Rooikat AFV (Trumpeter)

Let there be dust! Found a great product, Modellers Pigment, Brown Earth. I am in the process of applying it liberally to my Rooikat. As you can in this image of a test bed variant, the dust really sticks. This is what I am trying to emulate with my build. Thanks for watching.

1/35 SADF Eland Mk7 (AML 90) "Noddy Car"

Hi ya all, While the paint is drying on my 1/35 Trumpeter Rooikat, I thought that I would make in roads on “Ou Boet” (Old Brother), the Eland 90 reconnaissance armoured car that preceded the Rooikat, “Klein Boet” (Baby Brother). My build is based on the 1/35 Takom AML 90 kit, which will...

    1/35 Rooikat AFV (Trumpeter)

Hi ya all! I'm back in the seat, had my hip replacement op on the 28th Jan. The new one is still wearing in but more importantly, not painful. I have been busy with the Rooikat during my recovery. It is now nearing completion. Here are some images of my work to date: Primed and ready to go...

    1/35 Rooikat AFV (Trumpeter)

Well, the fiddly suspension has gone in and it's ready for wheels. (much later) Here are some images of more suspension assembly work. Rear suspension fitted. Full suspension fitted I started on the front and rear hull armour plates. The pinned shackles on the sprue sheet leave a lot to be...

    1/35 Rooikat AFV (Trumpeter)

Hi ya! Started on the Rooikat, as expected it is not as diminutive as the “Noddy Car”, here are some images of the hull, and main hull components. Started the suspension, what a mission for a wheeled vehicle. You'd expect this level of complexity with a tracked vehicle.:dizzy: This is...

    1/35 Rooikat AFV (Trumpeter)

Hi all, it's been a while since I last built any 1/35 modern armour in my late teen and early twenties. To re-engage with the subject I thought it would be great to build modern AFV's from the SADF (South African Defence Force) when they had AFV and troop carriers featuring some of the most...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

As promised, the build made it to Telford and took its place on our small table. I decided the Schnellboot deserved a display case, so I purchased the biggest one Trumpeter had to offer. To my surprise this turned out to be quite a tight fit. Anyways, she is now proudly sitting in her new...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Hi ya all! I haven't updated since the last charge for Telford 2022. I did manage to complete the model to a point, enough so that I could put it on the clubs table. Here are the build images leading up to Telford. Thanks for watching, I'll follow up with an update for the...

    1/24 R8 Samba "Sleepah"

A small update on the Samba, I finally entered into the competition at Telford 2022. To my amazement I managed to get a Silver. So happy with the result, as the competition was stiff.

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

I have been procrastinating with the rails as they are numerous and fiddly. Finally manage to filt them and the boat is edging towards completion. Still the bridge, guns, ropes and flag to do and a spot of weathering. Till next time, thanks for watching.:thumb2:

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Hi ya all! Still recovering from a chest infection, so not too much happening with the Schnellboot, but I did tinker with the liferafts after seeing aftermarket versions which I am strictly trying to avoid. So I decided to invest in some scale rope of various dia’s. This is my little extra...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Hi ya all! Just a small update, its a mission to paint all these bits and pieces. Anyway, the deck is getting busy as I populate it with funnels, lockers, cleats and the like. Once everything is mounted except for the guns, and bridge, I'll start weathering lightly. Thanks for looking, till...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Hi ya all! I have mated the the decks with the hull and she is now starting to look good. Fitted the props and torpedo launchers and some other bits. As per usual little bits snap off and some running repairs will be required, but its not the end of the world. Thanks for watching, till...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Well, it turns out there is a sliding hatch for the opening…oops. Managed to put down some more paint today. Next I need to paint the props, then mount them and the main rudder. Afterwhich I will seal with a gloss coat. Just need to decide if I’m going to use MrMetal brass or Vallejo’s...

WW2 German Fast Attack Craft, S-100 Class (Revell 1:72)

Its been a while and I have been diligently tinkering away in the back ground. Laid down some colour and started the bridge. I did notice an oddity with a large cut out in the upper deck but only a recess in the rear bulkhead. Is there a door of sorts here or can I cut it out? Some research...
