US Vietnam Figures - 1:35th scale - completed

I'm no expert at figures, but I'm slowly getting a little bit better each time I do some. Quite pleased with how these turned out, especially the two MP's, getting those tiny little decals on was a bloody nightmare, Lol! These are going onto my ongoing US Vietnam Diorama scene.... Final pics of...

US Vietnam based figures in 1:35

Figures are now done, final little touch ups with paint, final details added, eyes added (badly, Lol!) and final matt coat applied. Hopefully they will add some interest to my ongoing US Vietnam Diorama. More pics to follow in completed thread.

    Gern's Battlefront Miniatures Sherman M4A1

I did a "family" of Tigers not long ago, a 1:144, a 1:72, a 1:48 and a 1:35..... maybe you could do the same with Shermans? Just a thought, Lol.....:)

The make up foam is a good idea, forgot I had some of those, see pic, think you can pick them up via amazon, temu, or your local Boots, Pound Land, Home Bargains, etc etc for just few quid and they will last years. They come in all shapes and sizes... Just pull/cut bits off, dab a bit of paint...

    Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc

The track ruts were a tiny tad too deep IMHO, so I put a bit more mud paste in, and also have now added tyre tracks, or the suggestion of tyre tracks, as I presume in a wet jungle, the ground would be quite soft.

    Peters US GB Entry #2 - M113 ACAV - Tamiya - 1:35

Progress so far, not much, but its a start, I have decided for this build to try to reduce all the little painting jobs, so am trying to get all the little bits on the larger parts as much as possible, so that they can all be primed/painted at the same time. We'll see if that works.... Lower...

    Peters US GB Entry #2 - M113 ACAV - Tamiya - 1:35

Decided to do another entry for this US GB, as I still have a few suitable candidates. This will be the Vietnam version of the M133 ACAV, (Armoured Cavalry Assault Vehicle). The kits comes with a couple of figures too (I think?). I have already made a start today, but here are the box/sprue pics....

Hi and welcome mate, your story is pretty much the same for most of us here, eg: used to build kits, life / work got in the way so we stopped, then we retired and started up again, Lol. Enjoy the forums buddy, lots of good info and helpful peeps on here. Can't offer any expert help with the ship...

    BMW 325i

Looks good, glad it went together ok in the end. I've only done a couple of Revell kits, but they were ok luckily for me.

    Tamiya SAS jeep 1/35

Good progress. I have this kit in my stash and it spurring me on to do mine, but I'll wait see how many tips I can pick up from you, Lol. Looks good so far, not sure I'm up to the standards of the mods that you are applying though. But I'm learning stuff.... (y)

    Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc

The base has now had a coat of primer (Citadel Chaos black) and then had its first coat of xf52 Flat Earth, also noticed a couple of small holes, cracks in the filler applied yesterday, obviously bits I missed....so bit more applied where needed.

US M706 Armoured Commando Car - Hobby Boss - 1:35 Completed

Enjoyed building this unusual armoured vehicle. A nice kit to make with no significant issues, other than the decals being very fragile, and losing a few due to them breaking up, and disintegrating! This will be used in my ongoing US GB Diorama, which is a small Vietnam based scenario. Final...

    Peter's M706 Commando Armoured Car - Hobby Boss - 1:35

Cheers, and thanx for suggesting the GB. I'll put up a completed pics thread as I have just improved the muddy look a bit, especially the wheels/tyres. Really enjoyed the build, and watching other peoples GB builds...... I may just have to start another one for the GB..... 8-)

Tamiya 1 / 35th Scale British Universal Carrier MK 11

I try to go through the instructions and work out what sequence I want to do things, not necessarily the same sequence as in the instructions. As you say, sometimes you may need to paint/weather behind another part, eg: tracks, so you may do the chassis first, including priming, painting, maybe...
