Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc
Added some Mig/Ammo mud paste/filler (dark), but ran out, so finished it with some light mud past, they are basically the same thing, and its gonna be painted over anyway, so the different shades will not show on completion. This added more texture to the base and filled in lots of the gaps...- pjgtech

Peter's M706 Commando Armoured Car - Hobby Boss - 1:35
Calling this one done. Its had its final matt coat. For some reason I got a paint reaction on the top rear (RHS) section, near the rear closed hatch, where its gone a sort of powdering white, not sure why? I quite like it as it does look a bit like some wear/corrosion, so its staying as is. This...- pjgtech

If its the same kit I had, and you want the driver in position, you have to get him in position before attaching the main front bulkhead, otherwise you can't get him in afterwards, just something to think about....(y);)- pjgtech

Me neither until I saw this kit! It was apparently made by Cadillac (Gage) and used (mostly) by the US Military Police for convoy escorts and base defence. Due to its high angular shape, it was easy(ier) to use in dense vegetation, eg: jungles, and crossing deep waters, etc.- pjgtech

A little update on this one.... I have added a moss wash to the hut, as the jungle would be wet/humid, so presumably a haven for moss, etc? I have also added a couple of items for interest, eg: MG leaning against the side, couple of fuel cans, an ammo tin.... Here is the base, now with some...- pjgtech

Weathering now done, tried not to over do it! Some light rust, light chipping / wear marks, a light mud wash, mud on the tyres, etc. It still needs its final touch up and matt coat, then I will post up the final completed pics.- pjgtech

Pics of the decals, as above they were a real pain, but managed to get some sort of scheme on, a couple have bits missing, but once weathered should not notice TBH, plus on real vehicles, markings / paint schemes get damaged and worn anyway, so.... Should have had large MP letters on both sides...- pjgtech

Well I tried to put the decals on today, and wow...these Hobby Boss decals are cack! Very unco-operative to come off the backing sheet, and when they do half of them just disintegrated, and once on the model, very hard to move without cracking, breaking up, even though I was using micro sol and...- pjgtech

The hut/checkpoint has now had its final lighter coat, so it looks a bit more sun faded hopefully... I also have a nice mossy wash, so may add a coat of that to the hut later, as it would be presumably a very wet area, being a jungle, etc... A spotlight and .50Cal MG now also installed in the...- pjgtech

Latest update, so I have now glued the blue foam base to a thin sheet of ply with PVA, weighted down overnight to set. Hopefully that will stop any warping of the base, which I've had in other dioramas? Then moved on to giving the jungle hut /checkpoint a lighter coat to simulate a wood/bamboo...- pjgtech
