Papa695s 1/72 Airfix Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB

Very good, the detail is excellent, I keep checking that it really is 1/72 - which is daft, because I know I did the same kit years ago :D

    Its too flipping Hot!

adds a whole new dimension to the carpet monster - especially with any pieces that jump after application of CA.

We're about 15 miles West of you, and just got caught in a thunderstorm walking the dog, it's probably heading your way too

    Cleaning the stash... Sort of

The final twist... My wife said,"I bought myself an extra set of PJ's, so if you want to buy another model, you can". Oops. I had to admit that I already had, she thought I'd only bought one :D "I did buy one, but there was another one stuck to it when it arrived." Strangely, that excuse...

Nick's Airfix 1/72 F14A Tomcat - Geoffers US Icons Group Build

I definitely did this one as a kid in the box art scheme - pretty sure I was quite chuffed with the result at the time, although I suspect not so great in reality. Enjoy your trip.

    Joe's Academy 1/72 F-16C Thunderbirds

Good start, don't envy those decals, but it will look the business when done.

    Steven's Eduard 1/48 F6F-3 Hellcat

I compared my P47 with the Spitfire, and that, and the F6 really are beasts, aren't they? Coming along nicely, it's going to look good in flight. I think I'll borrow the balsa idea for my Mig build.

Tamiya SAS Jeep 1/35 finished pics

Really good work, and the figures are perfect for the kit. The Land Rover looks properly battered. I can't help thinking of Stan from Dinnerladies - "My dad was a Desert Rat. He washed the tin plates of thirty-two fighting men in a hub cap."

my arrivals to get a box to send a kit on... The irony being the box these came in is too small. The sacrifices we make :(

    Cleaning the stash... Sort of

In an ironic twist, the box they arrived in was too small anyway :) I found the right size one in the garage - my wife suggested I should send the models back. :D she's a funny one! Anyway, I believe John has a 'no returns due to false pretences' policy 😉

    Watching along, a brave choice.

The Cure have been around for about 50 years, although I guess they were an influential band rather than Goth originally.

    Brian's Sovereign of the seas

I'd need a year off if I had just finished Victory! You are inexorable - that's the word, like a glacier - progress may be steady but it cannot be resisted. Pew pulled up, Costco size popcorn supplies ready...

    Its too flipping Hot!

Luckily, my room is good, it's cool, and I can open multiple windows - the sun doesn't shine directly into it until 4-5 pm by which time I'm done.

Eh? Sorry, does not compute! How did you do that? And more to the point, why?

Westland Wessex HU.5 - 771 Naval Air Squadron (Royal Navy) - Italeri 1:48

Great work, the dirt and muck on the floor and behind the seats looks very real.

Neils Tamiya 1/72 Republic P47D Thunderbolt ‘Razorback'

I took the masking off the canopy by mistake, and I still have to gloss -> decals -> matt varnish - but I'm pretty sure there are no decals around the canopy so I can just mask the whole thing.

Neils Tamiya 1/72 Republic P47D Thunderbolt ‘Razorback'

So I have painted the underside and topside now, the olive drap is paler than I realised. The red will need to be gone over one more time at least as well.

Neils Tamiya 1/72 Republic P47D Thunderbolt ‘Razorback'

So first, a tale of the Carpet Monster falsely accused.. I was putting on the tail wheel flaps, put the first on and then couldn't find the second. These are not tiny, so I was sure I would spot it. I moved my chair, the rug, moved everything off the table, picked up the cutting mat. I spent 20...
