    Aston Martin Ulster.... 1/32 Matchbox

Pyro did an Aston Martin International in rather eye-watering bright yellow. A kit I would very much like to get, without having to sell my kidneys for. BTW so called 'British Racing Green' isn't the single colour everyone thinks it is, probably at least not before the 'seventies. Though...

    Worst /best kit you’ve built.

Worst is easy. Anything by Amodel, but specifically their 1/144th Canberra. Detail and scale are fine, but the engineering is simply appalling. Everything is just butt joints, and when you've got six separate parts to the fuselage, aligning them is a nightmare Best kit, probably the current...

    Aston Martin Ulster.... 1/32 Matchbox

This is in my (small) stack of nineteen-thirties sportsters, so I'll watch this with interest

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane Mk.1

Apart from the piping in the wheel well, which needs a bit of force to fit, this kit practically falls together!

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

Nah, it's fine, especially after the last 'plane I finished was that 1/72 scratchbuilt Avro Aldershot biplane, with a 28cm wingspan. The 'big' MiG won't look that large next to that So it'll go in a different cabinet

Why don't all models come with a masking set?

Good point. Lots of manufacturers outsource to Cartograph for transfers, saving themselves specialist staff. Eduard started with etch accessories before they got into actually kitting stuff didn't they? so diversifying to add masks are in house wouldn't be too big a stretch. Airfix sets may...

Why don't all models come with a masking set?

Precisely Price-cisely? I'll get me coat...

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

I've had this a while, and it may get built for this GB, but I'm adding this little beauty to my stack of reference material!

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

And on to the next steps There are, indeed, straps moulded onto the seat. But no dials on the instrument panel (praise Athena!). Just a few spots of colour to mimic what's there The model does, just about have one gun bulge, but it's practically invisible, more of which later. So, these...

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

Actually, it's thirty-eight, and does include the Chinese ones. It includes a fair number of unusual prototypes, all of which are, in some shape or form, a MiG-21 I'm tempted to some multiples of particular types, as there are some pretty / odd / pretty odd schemes out there. Like '007' the...

    We found a classic.

What shocks me is that this kit is still available, albeit in modern boxings, and not costing an arm and a leg

Why don't all models come with a masking set?

I've got a trio of Special Hobby Caproni twins, which thankfully do include interior and exterior masks, because the glazing is a nightmare. Which is also why the fuselage halves are moulded transparent in the first place. Which is nice Eduard do some 'special editions' with masks included...

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

All of them. Well, not all the Ye-4 and Ye-6 sub-variants (which is 2-3 of each) Thirty-three, or therabouts! Hopefully, also, without going back over ones I've already 'finished'

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

Ah, you see, I have this shrink-ray, that reduces the full-sized objects to this scale Or is it a very good magnifier? One or the other. I forget which

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

And now, to give you nightmares, the completed, three part (bucket, seat, panel) cockpit Just need to add some belts and some switch detail! Ha ha! Can't tell if there are actually dials on that panel! Goddess, I hope not

    Chris' F-Toys 1/144 MiG-21 F conversion

And here we go, almost the only major difference between the F and the F-13, unmodified at top, narrowed at bottom. The F still had both cannon, so that's to be added next The F-13 is so-called because it was specifically built to take the K-13 AtoA missile (the one known as Atoll in the...

    DH88 Comet bad news

Shuttleworth have not had a good record this year, what with the Avro Triplane in May. Both of them look like pilot error, but we'll see

    Hasegawa mitsubishi lancer Evo VI

My brother-in-law spent forty years in the motor trade as a mechanic (in other words, 'Yes, I do know what I'm talking about.') and he can spot the differences inn car marques at fifty meters. Me? Um, that's a car... But even I c an tell the difference between these Still, if you were talking...
