As for the nav. lights, many of my silver wings have teardrop shaped light on the wings and tails. Y'know, that's probably the thickest rigging 'wires' I've ever seen on a plane. They're definitely more 'rod' or bar than 'wire' I may just give the fibre-optic strands a go some time- Steve-the-Duck

That's a very interesting rigging solution. I'm assuming the paint stiffens the fibre optic stuff somewhat. I've given up using superglue to attach my metal rod rigging as it does mark the silver too much, and have gone over to PVA, which seems to work fine so far The guns and mounting seem...- Steve-the-Duck

Well now, it looks like rattle-can Humbrol Metalcote Polished Aluminium is my go to for all the Soviet jets Not that I'll be able to find any more! None of the prototypes seem to have had doors on the main wheel legs, so that just needed a little surgery And on they go With just a little twist to straighten it up before the glue dried, after this pic was taken. As with the Ye-2, the nose needs to be shortened by about 1 mm, which is easy enough. Will need a little sanding later Nose probe is just a piece of 0.5 mm brass rod, and a shim underneath. I'm hoping the rod will be more robust than placcy rod!- Steve-the-Duck
