    Another Varnish and AB question?

Do you guys thin your varnish or just use it straight from the jar, etc? I tend to use Tamiya XF gloss clear and Humbrol Matt clear mostly, but alos have some Lucky Varnish too, (not yet used). Thanx

    Clearing varnish through AB?

As an addendum to this, (see above) I've only used varnish once through my AB, and am about to use it again. First time I used my 0.3 needle, should I use a larger (eg: 0.5) needle instead for varnish? I did find that I had to do several coats of varnish first tyime round, presumably cos they...

SAS Landy - Pink Panther - Tamiya - 1:35 scale

Did a bit more this morning.... Rear wheels on, front end made up, front seats in, various levers, geartsicks, handbrake, etc.... Close up, paint still needs tidying up in places.... Made a schoolboy error yesterday, put all the underside stuff in, but forgot the exhaust! So could not get...

Seen a couple of YT vid son the Ultra, it was one of the AB's I looked at before I bought my Gaahleri Seeker. As you say seem to be aimed at noobs (like me).... If I did not already have two, I'd prolly snap your arm off, Lol.... Good luck with the sale....

    GB idea

Yep, sounds good to me, I do like a GB, only reason I did not participate in the Mig one was because, erm, I dont have a Mig! Tamiya GB sounds good, I have lots in the stash.... already thinking of poss scenarios.... 8-)

SAS Landy - Pink Panther - Tamiya - 1:35 scale

Little update..... After leaving the colour from last night, today it looks like a very, very pale pink, but as it would have faded etc, I think I'm gonna leave it as is. I will be going for a very well worn, well used, weather beaten look, lots of scratches, dents, dirt, sand, oil and grease...

SAS Landy - Pink Panther - Tamiya - 1:35 scale

Bah, schoolboy error! Just painted up the main parts in pink, but was using my new AB, and did not realise it had the 0.5 nozzle in it, so splodged paint all over.... Took me a few minutes to work out why so much paint was coming out! Will have another go tomorrow with the correct nozzle (0.3).

    Project 911

Lol, not sure about the green? but I tend to not like cars in green, had a Renault 18 GTL many, many years ago which was a horrid pale, metallic green and I hated it, my then GF chose it cos she liked the colour!

SAS Landy - Pink Panther - Tamiya - 1:35 scale

Little bit of history, but I'm sure that most on here will already know.... The Pink Panther was introduced in 1968 and eventually retired around 1984 and used in various theatres, including: Middle east, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Kenya and Belize. Apparently the MOD bought about 70+ Landys (S2A) for...

SAS Landy - Pink Panther - Tamiya - 1:35 scale

Next project is the Tamiya SAS Land Rover Pink Panther in 1:35 scale. I do not have the correct pink shade, but Tamiya do helpfully give advice on how to get the pink, eg: mix of white, red and sand/buff. TBH I'm not precious about paint colours being an exact match, so as long as it looks ok...

    Clearing varnish through AB?

Another noobie AB question.... How do you know when you have suitably cleaned / flushed through the AB enough when using clear varnish? Obviously with any sort of pigment/paint, you can see if any paint is left after cleaning/flushing, but not so with anything clear! I assume its just a matter...

Tamiya 1:35 - SAS Pink Panther jeep - which pink?

This might be my next build, and I've been pondering which pink to use? I have Tamiya X17 pink, which is a bit bright, but could mute it down a bit. I know I could mix white/red to get a pink. I also have a Humbrol PRU pink (for Spitfires, etc) which seems to be a nice muted pink. Most...

    My first 1/24 figure

Nowt wrong wiv that, looks really good. I've done a few now, loads at 1:35 and a few at 1:16, even fewer at 1:72.....even though I'm still carp at them, but I quite like doing them. For me the eyes are the worse bit, they are so bloody fiddy to do and its so easy to make the figure look weird...

    Next kit build dilemma

Time for my next build and lately I seem to have trouble deciding which kit to start next, don't know why? Got plenty to choose from, just can't make up my bloody mind, Lol.... First World problems and all that.... ;) (y) Think it might be a boaty floaty thing, but we'll see...
