Thanks for all your positive feedback chaps :smiling4: After a lot of blue tac and masking tape had been applied and much scrutiny, I had nothing left to do but get some colour in the airbrush and hope I hadn’t missed anything! Hi Dave, I did like your 72 nd elefant/ferdinand, you made a cracking job of that :cool: I had planned on just free handing camo but when I saw this scheme I knew there was no way I’d get it neat enough. Latest Acquisitions (2023)
Got an Amazon voucher for filling out a survey so went looking for something cheap with plenty of bits. £19.01 delivered! Built a different version of the Miniart T-60 kit a while back and enjoyed it so looking forward to building this. -

LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 4871 Passes through Ford station this morning….
Not technically my hobby but my son is a spotter and tipped me off that this was passing through. What a rush to hear and see it thunder past :smiling4:- Si Benson

Some progress on the Ferdinand….. Both left and right tracks completed and removable for painting. Then wheels and track where then removed and a squirt with some MR something or other black stinky primer. Only enough time to spray the big bit tonight but will hopefully get the...- Si Benson

Finally had free time enough to get into assembling the tracks and these Magic tracks are a doddle. lay them out, glue, let it set up a bit and get them on. This run is in three sections to make breaking down for painting easier. The front sprocket has the offset mount so can be adjusted...- Si Benson

Right up to the last few bits now. The Aber barrel and muzzle break went on as did the pistol ports complete with plugs on chains a travel lock and other bits and bobs….. Just a tool box, tow cable cables and of course the tracks to make. I’ll scan through the destruction one last time to...- Si Benson

I agree on the custard but it seems the Mrs fancied a bowl of custard on its own for lunch so I got the leftovers :sad: Managed a bit more time at the bench adding all the bits to the casement such as hatches and handles. Dragon gives you the option to model the hatches open or closed and...- Si Benson

Tiny weeny update as I had to work till lunch time. Broke out the included photoetch and added the mud deflectors (?) and a mesh grill over the rear intake. The kit comes with a choice of metal D shackles or plastic…..metal it was. Then the cover goes in place to hid the majority of etch...- Si Benson

A little more done tonight with assembly of the front and rear drive sprockets and at this point the instructions says to assemble the track…..so naturally I skipped this for now and carried on with the assembly of the rear hull The wheels are just dry fit so they can be removed for...- Si Benson
