I took them apart and totally forgot they were early Academy kits so the details were a bit soft on the bolt heads on the side sponsors. I hope what I show helps others to try modifying their figures to suite specific postures they have in mind for their dios instead of giving up the idea because they can't find the right figures. In that mix you see the near finished MP that I have added to the Dio. I found him in the stash... Then I worked on adding his heavy coat...and shifted his arms a bit. Most of his top and sleeves will be covered with putty to beef up the thick coat. I wondered if the MPs drove thier bikes in...- rtfoe

Some progress with the smiling guy but first just to show how messy it is at the start of putty laying is... But when the putty starts to harden a little then it's easier to sculpt... Thanks Scottie, if you do I'm sure you'll do a great job of it. Before I go on the next set of tools, I just added another figure with a replacement head from one of the surrendering German soldiers. These are new additions to the Dio... German prisoners being checked over. Quite a bit of surgery to get the arms right. The figure on the left needed a hip replacement and will need bigger feet. Hi, Confidence in sculpting the second half of the coat was less stressful. Now I have two different figures marching in step from the same mold. On checking with references on the coat, it didn't have a belt but a short strip of belt and buttons to hold the coat in shape on the back... I need...- rtfoe

Thanks Jim, working on the coat just now was a challenge. Good thing I only mixed enough to work on one side of the coat 'cos it was starting to cure as I was doing the final shaping and folds. Here are the images before final detailing... Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe
