    1:??? Mv Alta ghost ship

This ship turned up wrecked on the coast near me and what fitting way to honour it other by building a model of it. It was abandoned near the Caribbean and drifted to Ireland. She did well at over 40 years service. No idea what scale it is yet. Need to calculate it. Be a nice waterline talk piece.

Hey Chris, thank you. Ironically this is a follow up of my as united states....lol. I did a water scene for that one. Ships in general I love. I love the shapes of the battleships alright. Its funny because Gibbs who designed both liners incorporated a lot of warship design into these ships. He...

Very fine work it is too. The paintwork is very difficult to do indeed so dont knock yourself. I have started to redesign the kingposts alright to add more detail to them and created steam winches for it too. Working on the anchors ATM as well to get the right scale as she had four of them. Live...

Got the hull painted today which over all worked out well requiring minimal touchups. Had a bit of anti fouling on my thumb which marked the superstructure but all fixable in the touch up phase. She is looking the part now though.

Slowly coming along. Reminds me of doing an old airfix liner. Of course completely under estimated the manual paintwork required here but I shall prevail.

Found this randomly and said I would start build it. A small build between builds. Will go nicely with my revell united states. It took three attempts to do the bow section on my flashforge.

    Hello All

I will of course Chris, I will dig out the big camera for the next pics of her. I could not believe the doolittle raid, that was pure suicidal. I always wondered why they did not sail closer to Japan for that. That took some bravery. The carpathia is going to match my 1:200 titanic yet to be built.

    1:200 Carpathia

Hey Chris, It's funny because I did get an itch to build the type 45 destroyer when it came out a few years back from airfix and remember as a kid getting a 1:350 george v which I loved building it but my heart always drew me to ocean liners. It is a shame that they are all but gone now but even...

    Hello All

Yes, I was not down then but that ship is coming back in next month again, docked outside the heritage centre which is the old train station. They put on a good show with ladies dressed in edwardian attire and play the brass band as you depart. I also like going into the cliffs for the UK...

    Hello All

Yes they are, I am very handy with a 3d printer. I got very frustrated with kits not being available so bought a 3d printer to do whatever I wanted instead. It has been very liberating I can tell you. I also wanted large scale models too so I could put plenty of detail.
