SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Rick / Neil - thanks both Cheers Chris Jim - ah, the wee lass. Made a start on her suit - she is tiny John - thought you'd like the 4BO :smiling5: Fernando - not the worlds best canopy but it is better than solid resin original Well, I am feeling absolutely crap at the moment - somehow...

Jakko - thanks for the tip on the translator app. I have a book on T34's in Israel, written by a Russian living in Israel. Purchased the last copy direct from the author - he only had a Russian version left so this will be a big help my purchasing borders on the insane so I only tend to post...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Ian - nice idea but I will need to do something or they will annoy me :smiling5: Steve - ta Peter - very pleased with how my experiment turned out. I guess it should work with any of the translucent colours Richard - cheers Paul - thank you Not a lot done today but here are the photos...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Wavey line camo is ok Steve but I don't fancy trying digital :surprised: made a start on some details looking at the large photos I didn't do a very good job of it either - I see a few bits that need tidying :sad-face:

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Karl, Si, Jim, Rick - you will be pleased to know that I decided to go with the red :thumb2: this is the current state of play it got a wash with starship grime, most of which was then wiped off using foam make up sponge sticks to leave it in recesses there is a definite reaction though...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Andy - didn't know it was stynylrez by another name. UMP? John - those flip lids are useless for the user. Quite good for the seller as you waste most of the paint and have to buy another one. I agree, taking the top off is much less wasteful Friday night I sprayed the suit with Tamiya flat...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Right, no laughing please I made a start on the figures rather than the pin sharp smart figures we get from manufacturers I look at reference photos and see baggy, saggy, unkempt looking lads Mine are probably a bit too baggy and saggy but I shall keep going for now I have determined...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Jakko - that is great. Must have taken some time and considerable cost to build. Even better, the vid is backed by one of my favourite bands Sabaton :thumb2: The three bodyguards in red capes are rather nice as well;) Karl - not by my reckoning  An 80mm figure height at 1/18 would...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Not many parts Steve plus it has been on the go in the background for a couple of weeks cleaning up Going for the matt well worn and abused look :thumb2: Tim - that is just bizarre. An early prototype perhaps  modified canopy frame tidied up and mounted - drilled and pinned it...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

sanded off a few more mould lines then did some test assembly with white tack to get it standing up once it was standing I marked the limbs in relation to their position on the body, removed the tack and CA'd them in place I then flooded the ball joints with liquid CA a few general shots...

SimonT - "Does my bum look big in this?" A wee lass in an armoured battle suit

Came across this on one of my late night ebay perambulations and thought it looked quite good fun Small lass in a large mechanised, armoured and armed, battle suit Judging by the fine surface lines that are evident in places it looks to have been at least partially 3d printed but then cast in...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Steve, John, Paul, Joe, Jim - thank you all Not 100% Jim but looks the part and better than just sticking them to the hull. At least this way I got them on the 'rope' (actually super strong, none fluffy, nylon thread) so they could hang naturally finally got around to assembling the basic...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Not much to show tonight - couldn't be bothered due to heat It is just too hot for me - just after midnight and still 26degC - anything above 20 and I just start to dissolve going by reference photos it was common practice to hang water bottles on the side of the hull the kit would have you...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Steve - good idea John - oh no, the bucket of shame :tired: having got a bit lazy last night just attaching the bucket as it came off the sprue I was quite rightly taken to task by John so..... soaked it in Tammy cement until it came loose and then prised the chain out of it pulled off and...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Still didn't like that tarp so off it came another one went on the front over the jerrycans added the rope around the front bumper added a length of chain and the ever present bucket to the rear - bucket pinched from a Tamiya half track helmet from the kit - chiselled out the insides and...

    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.223

Cheers Steve - figures will be interesting. I've started quite a few over the years but not completed many and it's been a while since the last one Hi Jim - thanks. Yes, free rein to position them to mimic the reference photos rather than cut'n'shut of modifying kit parts but then I have to...
