Yes I’m going try to make these guys look good maybe or maybe not. These guys date back to 1969 I was a year old.1st up is this guy I removed his horrible rifle if I had more replacement tools to put on him I would. So don’t slam me to bad think of this as a walk down memory lane or a retro build. Please be gentle this is my first attempt at figure’s I’m getting out of my comfort zone so enjoy the picsView attachment 323080View attachment 323081View attachment 323082View attachment 323083

Rick
This is my first time I’ve repainted him his uniform was to dark I will post some updates tomorrow

Lee there is so much I information on painting figures that I find you can easily get overwhelmed. After a while I actually began to enjoy attempting them ! :flushed:
John

Wow, a trip down memory lane for me Lee. This was the first set of figures I ever made (c.1974). Great work so far. Will enjoy following this one.

Hi Lee
Looks like you're doing fine so far. These old figures often have rather soft detail but with a bit of work can end up well.

John Thanks I’ve been looking at a lot of info so far. So many different shades of uniforms and color hope I get it right or close they are a lot of fun and hand painting is very relaxing to me

Peter Glad I could take you back down memory lane I was 5 yrs old when you build these guys. Thanks for stopping by

Jim They are very soft on detail but I’m still going to give it my best. Thanks for stopping by

Thanks guys for your support it means a lot to me especially when I’ve never painted figures before way out of my comfort zone here but I’m going to give it a try

Blast from the past.
there was a great thread on the old MM forum by one of the Andys about sharpening up the details ie scraping the belts and straps with a scalpel point. Could make a big improvement to these figures.
Jon.

Thanks Steve. Not much to work with on these guys but I’m trying. Don’t know if I will try another one of these oldies I will probably change up to more newer ones lots of “voids” in these

Been trying to work on these guys but the lack of detail on them are very frustrating to work on I may have to abort this project altogether due to the lack of detail on these and trying to make them look halfway decent looking

Ok I’ve re-grouped on this build also and thought I would try it again. Jon mentioned he read about removing the existing equipment and replacing it with more detailed ones so here we goView attachment 323863View attachment 323864

Lee .
Jon's idea is a great save. Glad you took up the idea. Already the detail of the kit stands out. :thumb2:
