HI all, this is my first post here so may as well introduce myself while I'm at it. I have collected diecast construction models for years but only just decided to give weathering and dio's a go. Here's my first attempt. It's placed on an MDF base with a wooden border round it. I used a Plastruct waterfall mold to get the height and then with the help of good old PVA glue used real granite chippings and dust from the local quarry.

This a Menzi Muck excavator which is desinged to get to awkward positions to carry out works. It's digging out a large waterfall feature and loading into a Marooka tipper. I've done some weathering on the tipper, this too is a 1st attempt.

Here are a few photos of the finished article. I really need to get to grips with sorting a good background for the photos.

Off he goes to unload. (no comments on the lack of a full load please :-" )

Great use of pre-built models to create a dio. The board looks superb, very realistic, like it very much.

Thanks for the comments all. Ron I'm up in Penmaenmawr near Conwy.

I notice that most of the models on here are kits, thought I'd throw a diecast spanner in the works! :D

Nothing wrong with using diecast or prebuilt kits, just as much joy and creativity and be had from them than by glueing your figures and said model together...er I mean skilful manipulation of a complex plastic construction kit. :D

Nice to have you onboard Martin.
