Well guys, my latest build is an effort to have something to contribute to my local model clubs set theme in a few weeks called ''Home Front''.

Knowing how long it takes me to complete my builds and given the short notice as I did not think we would be taking our efforts until June not Feb! I have opted to build the Bedford Q.L from the above kit to complement one of my previously built spitfires in a small dio.

For those of you who have not seen this kit that has been around for quite some time here are a few snaps!

I imagine most of you have almost certainly attempted this kit and as you know the instructions are somewhat basic and open to interpretation especial where the pump machinery is concerned having to decipher the diagram to assist (step 3 in instructions). As its an old kit its not without its flash and areas needing filling. As for fit apart from lots of fiddly parts and lack of locating holes in my opinion its been pretty good considering.

Along the way I have attempted to scratch-build a little detail in the cab, however once closed up you cant see much and as the steering wheel fell of after gluing and needing shaking out I decided I did not want the door open...hey ho, cant say I was happy with the fiddly wheel anyway! It has also given me the opportunity to use the Micro Kristal Kleer I got from John.

Well here's a few pics of progress to date, note last picture is not fixed so appears wonky!

Well so far I'm enjoying this one and only hope the Matador in the kit goes together as well when i get round to it with a future project.

Can honestly say this kit has so much potential for different versions as the Bedford's had so many uses so if you have never got one of these added to your stash i certainly recommend considering it.

Until next post comments, criticisms and any other feedback welcome!

Cheers

Finally Completed!

Well chaps, all has been very slow with the models however I am glad to say I have now finished the small dio as planned.

As you will see I chose to use one of my previous efforts of the Hawker Hurricane IIB, 402 (RCAF) squadron which was based in Warminster in November 1941.

Figures are from the Airfix refuelling set and Revell RAF pilots and ground crew set.

Well hope you like, comments and feedback always appreciated

Hi Rich, it looks great! The poor airman with the hose around his shoulders and having to wear a tie too. I looked at getting one of these refuelling sets, there are many good real life photos online of scenes such as the one you have replicated here. Good work.
