Order of Battle.
This kit is a F-22A – single-seat production version which was designated F/A-22A in early 2000s. It's a 2009 new mould & typical of HobbyBoss so it's really well done. Moulded on 4 grey plastic & 1 clear sprue, it's a very detailed and worth-the-money kit with full-detailed weapons bay. Not only that, it has wing racks for those JDAMs.
I messed up the decals so I printed mine: TF141 SOG - TF 075 - AF 04. Task Force 141, Special Operation Group.
Start from the cockpit: I painted everything with Ultimate Black of Gaia & matt finishing. For the HUD, I use Sharpie Green marker to paint on the clear part, yea the result is quite good, you can try it.
The F22A have a real cool gold-tinted canopy, so I begin with a color testing - Gaia Clear Orange - Gunze Clear Yellow - Stainless Steel Mirror and the outcome is really awesome! When light is on a direct hit, it reflected the light and almost looks like mirror; and when light is away, it shows the interior.
The marking/painting suggestion is totally OUT, not contrast enough and finally I decided to coat the camo area with Gunze 317. The result is cool, although it's a little bit inaccurate but ah, well at least I'm satisfied with it. Masked & painted the exhaust tips with GunMetal & Gunze 61 Burnt Iron.
After minor washing and weathering, It's fully flat-coated with Gunze 30 Flat Base Standard. The diorama is very simple this time - just an airfield with a pilot standing on it. Sprayed the base with different tones of gray and it's done.
Called everything done after the "Remove before flight" tags are added.
It's my first time dealing with this type of modern fighter jet, the most satisfy part is the gold-tinted canopy. The camo is a little bit off, not really satisfy with everything but i'll do better next time!
